Please stop this. Please don’t do that.I haven’t read all the responses to the thread here, and I’m not a very eloquent speaker, but I think there is a misconception. I’ve heard and seen the growth in the Catholic Church, or should I say the more liberal or secular movement within the Catholic Church. You know, the movement that puts limits on the Church’s Doctrine and Catechism of the Catholic Church. It’s now cool in the media to be Catholic, so we find ourselves inundated with converts. Priests who are converts or no longer old enough to have been witness to the True Faith of the Catholic Church i.e. pre-V2 changes and misinterpretations. There is however, a somewhat parallel Traditional movement that young people and converts alike have come to embrace. Small though it may be, compared to the New Age Catholic movement if you will, it bares attention and appreciation for its roots. There is a renewed seminarian vocation to Traditional practices in some circles. And though the Church in the US has been allowed to fall away from tradition (aren’t we special), increases in requests for the Latin Mass and Latin Right Liturgical activities have been realized, even if not the same as the increase in the New Age Catholic movement.
In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
17,000,000 people joined the worldwide Catholic Church last year. Thats more people than belong to the whole Southern Baptist Convention. 2015 people were in the rite of Christian Election here in Atlanta last year. It took 45 mintues to read all the names. All these people joined because they love Jesus and Mary and because they believe the Holy Catholic Church to be the one true Church. Many Muslims joined here in Atlanta, and former Baptists. These didn’t join the Church because the media thinks its cool to be Catholic. Please stop that.
Please stop this nonsensical garbage about the true faith is pre-vatican II faith. Why don’t you come down to Atlanta from Montana and see the habited Dominican Sisters teaching at alll the schools and the minivans driving around with bumperstickers with a chalice and host and the words “I believe”.
Half the Churches down here have perpetual adoration. For crying out loud, we even have an FSSP parish for you if that is what you want. francisdesales.com/
