My pastor has started using the Benedictine Altar arrangement, has been preaching on the importance of Sacred Silence, started us using the Latin chant responses for Mass, etc.

Well, I wanted to drop him a line and tell him how wonderful Mass has become! I truely feel like I have left Earth and entered Heaven!!!
In my letter, I thought I would mention how great it would be if maybe receiving while kneeling would be a great option to mention to the people. As it is, Father already gives Communion to both sides of the Church on his own, and then there are two EMHCs that have the Cup on either side of the Church. I was thinking of maybe mentioning bringing out the double kneeler to place in front of him, for those that wish to kneel. And I have seen patens in the Sacristy, so the altar servers would be on hand with those as well.

Is that a good idea? Or shall I just leave it at “Good Job, Padre!”?

Oh no!!!

I just committed the sin of envy!😊

Yay for your Priest!

In most parishes it takes a while for people to get used to changes, so maybe that is enough for right now, and it might be that he has already considered what you mentioned, but decided to introduce things gradually. I would just say “Good Job, Padre”.
People can be overwhelmed by too much change at once and lose their sense of “security”, even if the changes are for the better. He is probably considering the needs and response of the whole parish in what he does.

That’s what I was thinkin.
Thanks for reaffirming!

I think your priest and my parochial vicar are on the same wave length. Even though mine hasn’t done the full Benedictine set up, he is celebrating daily Mass ad orientum. He has also taken his homilies to the next level and is sounding very much like the Holy Father. On some occasions, he will also chant the Kyrie, the Sanctus, the Memorial Acclamation and the Agnus Dei (the Sanctus and the Agnus Dei in Latin).

I will remember to pray in thanksgiving for your priest. Thank God for men like him. Please do write him a heartfelt grateful letter. He will appreciate it, I assure you.

Sounds good to me. Remember to temper your suggestions and requests with affirmation and praise. As much as that might sound like touchy-feely politically-correct clap-trap, it’s simply good social science. 🙂 People are more receptive to constructive criticism (suggestions, requests, etc.) when such criticism is accompanied by statements of support.
