I’ve seen some threads and even heard a priest call this year -the year of false mercy?
Can anyone explain why?

Right. You’ll have to ask them. Only they know why they would disparage the Jubilee.
There probably isn’t any, hence the original advice to just go ask them.I could speculate, but first could you give us a little background, context, or source material?
Never mind. I looked it up, and I mostly find blogs with the worst sort of denunciations of Pope Francis, calling him a heretic, and worse things. One good thing I can say about these blog articles is that they say we should not tolerate evil. I think we can agree that mercy is not simple tolerance or pardon. The blog writers have misunderstood.I could speculate, but first could you give us a little background, context, or source material?
Did they say anything about “Babylon”? (That generally leads to fruitful discussions.Never mind. I looked it up, and I mostly find blogs with the worst sort of denunciations of Pope Francis, calling him a heretic, and worse things.
True. The term “false mercy” is almost always used when condemning the practise of assuring someone in their sin rather than encouraging them to rebuke immoral behavior and practising a virtuous life.
Probably because they disagree with the Holy Father in some way. I’ve heard loads of people criticising the idea of a Jubilee year of Mercy.I’ve seen some threads and even heard a priest call this year -the year of false mercy?
