Yellow Arm Pit Stains.. What's a Mom to do?

That just plain sucks that she HAS to wear a white shirt. I buy black and darker clothes partly for this reason. It is totally normal that this happens to your daughter. I agree with other posters that it is from the deoderant. I second the “Certain Dri” brand. It works very well.

My problem now are dingy whites. I now have one of those new energy efficient washers and am paranoid about what I can and cannot use in it.

Any suggestions?

Bleach. Good old fashioned chlorine bleach. I have solid white bath towels and bed linens and use it all the time and nothing of ours is dingy.

My daughter had this problem too. The Certain Dri worked well for her but it did cause irritation so I would be careful about using it daily for too long. She uses Secret Clinical Strength now – I think it might have the same active ingredient but it doesn’t seem to irritate her skin as much. I also soaked her shirts in vinegar; I always rinsed them twice and used liquid fabric softener since she hated the smell of it. (Teenagers are never completely happy, lol,)
