Yellow Baseball Caps at Papal Audience

I watched the Papal Audience this morning at 2 AM and numerous people had on and waved yellow baseball caps. What does the hat signify?

I watched the Papal Audience this morning at 2 AM and numerous people had on and waved yellow baseball caps. What does the hat signify?

Its not the hat but the colour, yellow- the Colour of the Papacy. Sometimes you might see yellow flags being waved for the same reason. Its a bit like seeing the stars and spangles flying sign of the American flag, yellow is the Vatican colour coat of arms.
