Yeah. I’m going to listen to a hypocrite junkie!
ex-limbaugh listener.

I often think of this great quote from JXXIII when I hear pessimistic voices like Rush’s…

"In the daily exercise of Our pastoral office, it sometimes happens that We hear certain opinions which disturb Us—opinions expressed by people who, though fired with a commendable zeal for religion, are lacking in sufficient prudence and judgment in their evaluation of events. They can see nothing but calamity and disaster in the present state of the world. They say over and over that this modern age of ours, in comparison with past ages, is definitely deteriorating. One would think from their attitude that history, that great teacher of life, had taught them nothing. They seem to imagine that in the days of the earlier councils everything was as it should be so far as doctrine and morality and the Church’s rightful liberty were concerned.

We feel that We must disagree with these prophets of doom, who are always forecasting worse disasters, as though the end of the world were at hand. "

It’s better to light one candle then to curse the darkness.

This is a great quote, I am going to have to remember this one!

What a great quote. 👍

For anyone interested, that is from Pope John XXIII’s Opening Speech for the Second Vatican Council – a good thing to reflect on during this Year of Faith. It is interesting that he spoke those words 50 years ago – a time which many today long for as some sort of golden age.

I’ve been listening to Limbaugh for 20 years. No matter what the situation he has always said. “Don’t worry folks. Everything is ok.” so for him to say “America is going down the tubes” it must be bad. Keep in mind he has inside info. we do not. Like him or not he is documented to be right 98.789% of the time. I know because he said so. And he’s almost always right.

youtube.com/watch?v=BEQNianUW_EOne man and one woman…Marriage the way God intended it. America is in despair:
Thought you were posting a link to Rush Limbaugh.

How long ago did Rush say that? 1992?

Didn’t like the “song” so much – agree with some of the sentiment.

Scrolling down through the thread titles at CAF pretty much sums up the going down the tubes theory’s relevance – although now at least one abortion doctor is on trial.

Annette Funicello has checked out but we have new role models for girls checking in and out of rehab weekly. And a cavalcade of loopiness disguised as a major party’s convention.

Now there’s THIS today (my state’s "government in action)! Money for “infertile” gay couples??!

wnd.com/2013/04/stunner-california-to-help-infertile-gay-duos/

And the Rush Limbaugh show’s take on this (including the show’s call in guests)
RUSH: Gay infertility. It is… (chuckles) It’s about mandated insurance coverage for the inability to have babies. I know you’re scratching your head. “Wait, wait, wait. There’s no such thing as ‘gay infertility.’” Oh, yes, there is now. The language doesn’t mean anything anymore, folks. Truth doesn’t mean anything anymore.
Language doesn’t mean anything.
So if a bunch of activists want to create the concept of “gay infertility” and then tax all the rest of us to compensate them for the fact that they can’t have babies, then that’s gonna happen. You haven’t missed anything yet. I’m just teasing you as to what’s coming. Gays now think it’s not fair they can’t have babies, so they’re calling that “infertility,” and it will require mandatory health insurance because of it. (interruption) Yeah, I know they’re not infertile but that doesn’t matter; they can’t have babies.
rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/04/09/gay_infertility_don_t_laugh_folks < Transcript of 4/9/2013 excerpt from the Limbaugh website.

I DID get quite a few different selections for Limbaugh using the “hell in a handbasket” cliche … so rather than choose one … I’m posting what he’s saying now (that demonstrates the sentiment).

Graphic above from the Limbaugh site.

As breathtakingly stupid as this California proposal is … it may be enacted into law as both houses in California (State Senate and Assembly) have whopping Democratic majorities and a Democratic Governor who might sign the passed bill into law.

Limbaugh is a bit late to the game on this. As Pope Paul VI predicted, the contraceptive mentality has cast very long and destructive shadows. It didn’t begin with Obama’s “conversion” to support for homosexual “marriage”. And it isn’t over by a long way.

Rushbo has been married 4 times and has no children. Can we all say in unison - “Contractiption Mentality” working it’s way with him??? LMFAO:eek:

Not to defend the 4 marriages, but sterility would produce the same results. Unless he has said something specific to the contrary, it’s probably best not to presume.
