It lacks practical value because it is misapplied. In the real world most economies are mixed. There are socialist policies in the us system and that can be fine even for one who favours capitalist principles generally.

Case in point, affordable health care where no person falls through cracks. The principle that basic health care is a human right is often called socialist but a Catholic/Christian regards it as biblical and a basic moral principle.
