Some of you may remember I was concerned awhile ago because we’ll be building a new church and I knew that the committees involved in planning the church were wanting to have the tabernacle in a separate room - not part of the nave or the chapel. This was a concern of mine because of a gradual decrease in reverence I see in our church (very little genuflecting, one priest wipes the rim of the ‘pitcher’ of consecrated wine with his fingers as he divides it into the glass chalices, the host/chalice not being elevated following the consecration, communion being distributed by one priest as if cards are being dealt, kids and adults leaving at all times during the Mass to get a drink, etc.) Anyway, I have always loved our Bishop for a variety of reasons and today I found one more reason to be to thankful for him and his orthodoxy. I found out that he totally nixed the separate room for the tabernacle and insisted it be placed front and center, behind the altar in the main worship area. He wouldn’t budge on this. I don’t want to give out his name because I’d rather keep my location anonymous, but please keep him in your prayers - he is a good man, passionate in his love for Jesus and His Church. We need him and I really want him to stay in our diocese for a long time.

Be sure to thank him and show support for him in any way you can. —KCT
