Yet another question about bad internet sites

Sorry for all the questions on this awkward topic. :\

Today, I went to a site that I knew had sexy pictures, but after a minute, I got disgusted with what I saw and I closed it. Did I commit a mortal sin? At first, for a whole minute, I consented to this horrible sin. I was interested in the immodest pictures I was seeing and I was getting pleasure out of it. But then what kind of a choice can you make in a single minute? Was that really a full-fledged choice?

I feel really bad about it now. I think it is probably a mortal sin. Because it might have only been a minute, but I still got pleasure out of seeing those pictures.

Nothing wrong with confessing it whether it is mortal or venial. I think you sort of answered the question in your post. You consciously went to a web site with the intent of looking at racy images for pleasure. But we don’t know the full situation so that is why you should seek Confession since our opinions to really mean a thing when it comes to forgiving your sins.

To be honest, I think a minute is enough time to give sufficient reflection. Just mention it next time you go to confession

I would say when you went to the site that you knew had these pictures. You made your decision. The fact that you feel guilty kind of seals the deal… Trust your conscience. Better go to confession to be safe.

It is wrong, you know that it is wrong and you did it anyway. My thought is that it is a mortal sin. I would be sure to talk with your confessor about this.

Also, have you thought about putting a crucifix or a picture of the Blessed Mother by your computer?

1857 For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: “Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent.”

Only you know if all 3 of these conditions were met. Take the advice given here by others, you cannot go wrong with confession. Just confess, and then you ‘know’ you are forgiven, no worries then.
