I just wanted to share. We are finally having our ground breaking today! Here is a piece about it on our diocese website: diocese-sacramento.org/

Our Church is going to be beauitful!

We are having a big BBQ and celebration afterward. 👍

Congratulations!
thanks! It turned out beautiful. Bishop did a homily along with our own Pastor. It’s probably going to take 15months or so to complete, I’m sure.

The link in my OP has a picture of what it’s going to look like. I know it probably won’t be a popluar style on here but I think it’s going to be beautiful. 🙂

The link is to your diocesan website I see nothing of a new church there.

😦 I know and our own parishes website is still being worked on so it’s not there either 😊

It is a modern looking parish but I really believe it is going to be beautiful. We will have a wonderful baptismal font. It’s just going to be nice to be able to fit everyone in for a change. We are over 3 thousand right now. Right now many have to stand in the back at many of our Masses. 😦

I don’t envy you. We have 350-400 families and that is plenty big. I have lived in entire towns smaller than you parish.

Rural Iowa. I love it and will NEVER leave. I like knowing everyone in my parish.

Lucky you! I did attend a very small country parish for a while but it was far from our home and the priest was old (no big deal but…), about to retire so wasn’t interested in doing anything Catholic 🙂 expect Mass. He is a sweet priest but a bit too layed back for even some like me. 😃

Congratulations! You’ll have chance to see the dedication mass of the new church. There are not many people having this chance. 2 yrs ago, I was able to see my parish celebrating our new church. It was an awesome celebration.
