My daughter (who is now 5) watched Yo Gabba Gabba for about 3 years. My wife and I often watched it with her. I have to say that I never saw anything in that show that I would consider to be bad. From what I recall, there were never any hidden messages or attempts to indoctrinate any particular political viewpoint.

Be careful as your daughter gets a little older. I’ve found some of the cartoons for older kids (like Power Puff Girls) to be incredibly sexually suggestive. Although even a little sexual overtone in my children’s cartoons would make me shut it off, I almost fell off my chair about a year ago while watching an episode of Power Puff Girls. Although the sexual part went over my daughter’s head, there was no doubt in my mind what was going on. And I guarantee if I would allow my kids to be regularly exposed to that type of trash, it would eventually sink into their young minds.

Nope, can’t stand the show. The show is someone’s bad acid trip and I won’t let my daughters watch it.

This is how I judge a cartoon:

“Will watching this make me more intelligent or significantly more stupid?”

My daughters also like the Mickey Mouse show, but there too I have a hard time listening to that “hot dog” song they play… It drives me crazy!

I also don’t like the shows with the long pauses… As if the kids are supposed to respond to the tv. (mine never do:shrug:)

My youngest loves to dance the hot dog dance.

The worst is Max and Ruby. I’ve only seen 4 episodes and I’m already getting tired of Max’s bull. And seriously, where are the parents? Max has some pretty obvious developmental problems and there is no way that a young child like Ruby should be the one responsible for raising a toddler. Can’t take it.

It gave me nightmares and I’m 13! I won’t ever watch that “show” again!

My kids LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My oldest’s interest in it peaked around age 4, after that it was a bit too simplistic for her, but by then her little brother had started to notice it and got hooked. And I fear now our youngest is starting to notice it too. We have probably every episode on our DVR (although at this point they watch see 2-3 episodes a week).

Personally I think the newer episodes have gone downhill. The show definitely jumped the shark when they gave Toodles a face and a voice and an annoying personality. My personal favorite is the one where they visit Mars and meet Martian Mickey, and then they do the Yum-blatz dance (similar to the Hot Dog dance, except on Mars they call them Yum-blatz…)

Is Yo Gabba Gabba a good influence for toddlers? I believe it is.
I had someone jump all over me for letting my little ones watch Yo Gabba Gabba because it pushes the gay agenda. DJ Lance is a thin, young black man who likes to smile, dance and play with toys, therefore he’s gay and pushing the homosexual agenda.

My kids love the show and it helps us get our 2 1/2 year old daughter to eat new things (we sing the “Try it…and you’ll like it!” song to her, which often leads to the “There’s a party in my tummy” song), so I’m fine with it. There’s a few other songs that she’ll sing when she does/doesn’t do the things the song tells her to do or not do, so she’s learning other good lessons as well. I just wish Netflix would get the more recent seasons.

Also was never a fan of Max and Ruby when my daughter was that age. I couldn’t stand the way Ruby was so condescending towards Max.

Yo Gabba Gabba came after our preschool/toddler time. But my daughter LOVED Blue’s Clues with Steve, not with Joe. LOVED that show. And all the Little Einstein videos.

Yeah, Steve was great!

Is he also clean/neat? If so, then he is obviously part of a malicious gay conspiracy.

My sister claims that when she was a young child, she was watching Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.

He made some type of dessert with cookies and cream, sort of like a little cake. He then asked the viewers, “Would you like to try?” I guess meaning have your parents make you this.

My sister took it literally and was mad that she could not have the cake through the tv. “Mr Roger’s wanted me to have the cake but I could not get it!”
