You are the teacher I see in front of me today,
Teaching in your actions and words that you say,
Helping me learn a little more about you and me,
In who we are right now and what we will soon be.
Everything I see, hear and feel you do around me today,
Can have an impact within me even changing my way.
People’s actions affect others for good and/or for bad.
Every person you meet, you can leave happy or mad.
The stranger you encounter, how are they transformed?
Inspired by your love, or are they hurt and deformed?
Do they look to you and say “I want to be like that.”?
Or do they cower and cringe and flee like a wounded cat?
Someone who knows you sees you coming nearby.
Do they stay to greet you, or do they rapidly fly?
Does your presence improve or diminish who they are?
Are they left strengthen and fortified or with a scar?
Is what you do, the example you want to set today?
What impact will you have on others in what you say?
Do you want others to follow the example you set here?
Do you bring others friendship, hope, and good cheer?
Think about all you encounter, what you do, and what you say.
You can make a difference to everyone you encounter today.
Choose how you will live for right now that is what you will teach,
For in your actions and words to others is what you do preach.
