You Catholics always get mad over NOTHING!

I hear this alot these days. Two men want to be married, a woman wants to control her reproductive health, our president wants to look out for womens’ reproductive rights. But we still stick to our old, tiny way of thinking.

Perhaps it’s time to get out of the dark ages and join the 21st century. All the other churches and changing and conforming to modern values and beliefs. Yet the Catholic Church remains stubborn and won’t change its stance on birth control, gay marriage, abortion, women clergy, etc. Protestant churches are growing because they know how to adapt and preach what is acceptable to 21st century believers.

The Prostestant sects are dying. They have conformed themselves to the world and have gained nothing.

Also, those over the centuries have said similar things as you do now. They are all gone, yet the Church remains.

chuckle Whoever told you that the protestant churches are growing while the catholic church is declining was full of malarky. Survey after survey says that protestantism is meeting it’s end while Catholicism grows, especially in those sects which embrace former pagan values, such as contraception, abortion, and sexual promiscuity

You know…
I was browsing an image site this morning looking for pictures of cute cats and dogs doing funny things, and it seemed every third picture was of someone trashing Christianity. I thought to myself “Look at all this anger, this vague, misplaced rage and the smug superiority of the modern man.”

And then I thought of my own youth, the rage that I felt at the Church, at the glaring wrongs that I saw. And I thought that I, a bright young man brimming with THE TRUTH would SHAKE that structure to it’s CORE, that I would RIGHT the WRONGS and END the WICKEDNESS!

And then when I had aged and mellowed a bit, I saw all the good, all the beauty and all the blessings that come from the Church. So…

I think they’ll be back. Let’s just all remember to be patient when looking for pictures of kittens. And please, keep reminding me to do the same.
