I used to think I was too busy to pray the rosary. I worked all day long; there was no time to pray. Well, I do have time if I know how to use every mintues of it.

For instance, it takes me about 5 minutes to walk to my car in my workplace’s parking lot. That adds up 10 min for the round trip. 🙂
I spend some mintues during the day walking back and forth the hallway from my office to another - about 3 mintues. And a few mintues to restroom and break between hour.

There, I have 15 mintues to pray the rosary. For doing this, it keeps me think of the Lord more frequently.

For the month of May, if you are a busy mom or busy boss, you can still be able to pray a rosary.

My moto: One rosary a day keeps Satan away.

How many free minutes do you have a day? 🙂

Thanks!

Do you have to say it continuously in one sitting? For example, can I break the rosary up throughout the day? For example, 2 decades in the morning and 1 decade at noon and 2 decades in the evening?

I’ve said the rosary several times during the day, reciting one decade at a time. Other times I’ll just choose a mystery and pray a decade, remembering whatever/whomever comes to mind. I’m a rosary addict. 😊

You don’t have to pray continuously in one sitting, and you can pray the rosary exactly the way you said. However, for some particular plenary indulgence, you need to pray it in one sitting, but this should be discussed in another topic.

That’s wonderful. One important thing that keeps me praying the rosary is the Legion of Mary group that I attend. We gather once a week and pray. It’s an awesome young adult group.

Thanks! wow, that is a great application. People can send requests too. Unfortunately, I can’t install to my PC at work, but I could do that at home.

Thanks for the link!

Yes, I do 😃 Every day at work, right after Fr. Corapi on EWTN radio. There’s usually nothing doing at the guard post, but if a truck comes in or something, I take care of business and pick up where I left off.

I have had chronic insomnia my whole life. Not only do I have a terrible time falling asleep, but I can’t stay alseep for the life of me.

While in the process of converting, I started saying the Rosary at night, while laying down trying to go to sleep. To my initial shame, I found that NOTHING helps me fall asleep like the Rosary. 😊 But then it occurred to me to view it in another way: I still wake up constantly during the night, and now I simply pick up the Rosary where I left off (as best I can remember), and recite it until I fall asleep again. It’s like God has offered me this chance to experience reprieve from my insomnia while offering this devotion to His glory.

Now, I do attend public recitation of the Rosary once a week, so it’s not like I always do it this way, and some nights I simply can’t fall asleep until I’m done, but I never sleep so well (for me) as when I say my Rosary.

i pray the rosary while commuting to work. and before bedtime, so 2 rosaries a day 🙂
at least!!!
3 on Thursday - Adoration
3 on Friday-Adoration
3 on Sat-Adoration
3 on Sun-Legion of Mary
4 on second Sun of the month-Legion of Mary and Curia meeting 😃

Also when my mind is troubled, i usually say a rosary (silently) while i am working.
or simply “O Lord Jesus Christ, I love you”

As Mother Angelica suggested, “Let’s every breath be a prayer to God”

Hi, I am new to this forum, just would like to share some personal thoughts with you. I was so impressed by your posts - this is exactly how I feel about the rosary! This form of prayer has been my lifelong friend. Years ago, going through a very tough time (psychologically), praying it alleviated the tension and panic my illness created. And it does indeed help you sleep… There is a powerful, yet gentle rhythm in the Hail Marys coming after each other, and the mysteries and my thoughts around those mysteries take up this rhythm, soothing my mind. It is almost like God touching you.
I keep the rosary on my desk, just to remind me of this soothing quiet when I feel like I could explode with stress. I don’t pray it every day, but I think I should try - it is hard to do anything at a regular basis now, with depression and anxiety, but I should take hold of such a powerful medicine!

Shouldn’t I…? Do you think I can do it?

welcome to the forum, Margita! I am glad you have joined us.

Sure, you can do it. You have already done it. Now, you only need to keep doing it. At first, you don’t need to start right off with the whole rosary; you can start with 1 single mystery out of 5per day. Keep doing it as your regular basic. Ask Virgin Mary to pray for you, to help you come closer to God, and to love to pray. That was how I started out…with 10 Hail Mary and asked her the same thing I wrote above.

If you don’t do 10 Hail Mary’s in one sitting, do it through out the day. That would be great too.

Keep doing that and you will soon realize how much more you want to pray. 🙂

God bless!

I will try! All the more so, since I am quite convinced this is the medicine the Doctor ordered… Thank you. I used to be a member of a Legion of Mary group when I was a teenager and I am thinking of joining the Legion again, once I manage to pull myself together… May God help me and you all, I am so glad I have found this forum!

Come down here to Texas of the US and join our Legion of Mary (just kidding - you are way up there in Canada)
Yes, the Young Adult Legion of Mary has helped me to keep praying the rosary. Here is the website of our group: www.childmary.org

It is awesome when we pray together as a group.
I hope you get to join the group soon.
God bless.

I am unable to attend the weeknight Legion Of Mary gatherings, so I am only an Auzilliary, reciting the TESSERA ona daily basis.

oh yeah, we have some members who can’t attend because of the conflict in their schedule, but they can still be part of the group and pray on their own time.

Not many, and I have to do what you do, at work. I pray the Rosary as a subset of my daily recitation of the Legion Of Mary TESSERA. One or two decades walking from the parking lot to the time clock, another decade or two from time clock to work floor, and other decades in slack periods. But I miss being able to deeply meditate on the mysteries, as I have to pay attention to where I am walking.😦

Yes, I know exactly what you meant. I still need to work on my schedule so that I could have more time at home for this devotion. I have other prayers that I do every night, and they are longer than praying the rosary. My problem is that I spend some time on computer working when I get home; if I pray the rosary with others, whichever prayers come last, I would not be able to pray - I sleep through them. 😃 .

Well, this is special month. I have to work on my schedule to save sometime for the devotion to the praying of the Rosary.

Thank you for bringing up the part that you missed the deep meditation of the mysteries. It’s been a great discussion on this thread so far. 🙂

I gather from this thread people pray the rosary while doing other things (such as walking or driving the car) and they break up the rosary into various sections (such as a decade here and a decade there) throughout the day.

I seldom if ever pray the rosary. Partly because I feel as though I have to be in a quiet setting such as in a church pew, or by myself in a room where I will not be i nterrupted.

Maybe I should rethink this. I suppose it is better then not praying it. Like many other people I am short on time. I have approx a 2-3 hour daily commute and work long hours. When not at work I am thinking/worrying about deadlines and such.
