I got it but probably because I love the Eastern Orthodox /Eastern Rite so much. I sent it to 3 priets and will send it to a Bishop on Monday who used to be eastern catholic.

I couldn’t resist. And my chikoti is probably warn out but not from use. It feel off of my wrist 2 years ago and I believe in the parking lot right before mass.

I have inexplicable desires for hummus every month of the year. Lol.

I assume “March Madness” has to do with the Great Fast?

I totally agree with the one about industrial strength insoles! I work all day on my feet and by the time the weekend rolls around the long periods of standing during services are murder on my feet!

I think the Onion Dome is great. Much of what they write I can see in a related form in our parish. 😉

I got most of it! I’m sending this on to some of my Eritrean Orthodox friends. Our RC church hosts them – I’ve learned so much attending their liturgy and working with them.

The one about not feeling ashamed about being spotted in a liquor store holds true for us in the Latin Church as well. In my old Protestant days, you’d rather be dead than get caught buying beer somewhere, especially if pastor saw you buying alcohol. shudders 😛

But that would mean he was also in the store 😃

This is just great!!! I am a Latin Rite Catholic (pre Vatican II, can still say the alter boy responses) love a Mass in Latin, HOWEVER, I attend a Byzatine Liturgy whenever I can, and sometimes when I need a Byzantine fix, I attend the Divine Liturgy at St. Anna’s Shrine, a Geek Orthodox church here in town. The priest and I bow to each other saying "Greetings from the West, he says 'Greetings from the East. I am ambidextorous in making the Sign of the Cross and somtimes get mixed up in church. And I just love those 30 statements, statements, statments. Kinda goes along with Sanctus,Sanctus, Sanctus.

Christ is Among us!

Last week when various RC sources were talking about Ash Wednesday as the one day of Lent that we Latins are required to fast, if you’re between 18 and 60 LOL, I thought: “You have to be Byzantine or Orthodox to get this”: You joyfully begin the 47 days of Great Lent with “Let us begin the fast with joy!” 😉
