You have to remember to add "For thine is the kingdom . . . " to the Lord’s Prayer when you are praying with Protestants.
Why would that be difficult for a Catholic? We say that at the end of The Lord’s Prayer at every mass.

Learn about Catholicism before you cast stones.

Paul

“For the Kingdom, the power, and Glory are yours now and forever”.

Although, the words are a bit different but yes…it is part of the Mass. However, it is not part of our daily Father’s prayer that you pray.

I could understand PaulDupre [edited: I meant Lak]… it is nothing wrong about it. I too forget to read that part when I pray with my own brother who is a Protestant, and it could be easily for us to forget the part that Protestants say.

No casting stone here. 🙂 just some short-memory problem. 😃

But as Catholics, we don’t say it until after the priest says, “Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Thanks for reminding me of that!
I am marrying a young man who is Baptist, and I need to put that little tidbit in the program so his family, and my fathers side (also Baptist) don’t jump the gun
😃

You know that at my parish’s praise and worship, there are two Catholic ladies who pray the Prayer including the last part of Protestants. I don’t know how they get to pray that, but I have no problem at all. The only thing that I am still curious is how that last part become part of the prayer.

You know you’ve been studying too much Catholicism when …

well, never!

There’s always more to learn and never enough time to know it all or get sick of it all 😃

… you’re walking down the hallway minding your own business and somebody stops you and asks a detailed religious question … and you know the answer.

Any of you converts, reverts, people in the process of converting, or those of us Prots who enjoy studying Catholic doctrine: Ever study so much for so long that it really starts to affect the way you look at things?
Yup. That’s why I’ve taken a 6 month or so break from CA forums. I needed to find my identity. Still looking. I think it ran away 😛
For example, as a Protesant, I know I’ve been studying too much Catholicism when:
  1. I can read the same tired old unoriginal anti-Catholic posts here and automatically begin debunking them…some without even looking it up!
  2. I get all defensive of Catholic doctrines I’m not sure I even believe.
  3. I just shake my head and sigh “Oh, those silly Protestants…”
😃
How true. I’ll never forget the time in Bible Class when pastor said that Scripture interprets Scripture and I nearly yelled out “What about Tradition?”…

you own more books by Catholic writers than the denomination you belong to. (in my case, Lutheran):o Can’t help it that there are some great Catholic writers…

I do this everyday because my computer is on the floor. :gopray2:
I did the same thing too - only because there wasn’t room to put a 3rd computer (for college - a wonderful little bargain for $300 – PC, and printer-, and I used it to search about the Virgin Mary). 😃
  • You happen to see “A Haunting” on the Discovery Channel, and when people are using the Ouija Board, or a psychic, you scream, “NO!!! GET A PRIEST!!!” :o

When someone says something bad about the CC and I defend the CC with a correct answer:D

AND I’M NOT CATHOLIC:eek: 👍

To all of the protestants who defend us, even though you’re not Catholic:

Thank you!🙂

It really is a strange phenomenon. Though I’m a Lutheran, since coming here I will almost always taking the side of Catholicism/Orthodoxy against Evangelical Protestantism. My friends get quite frustrated with me, sometimes.

We’re honestly not trying to brainwash you, or anything!😃

Oh, don’t worry! I don’t see myself converting in the future. And if I did, it’d be to Orthodoxy anyway. I just really despise the growing evangelical influence in America. The mega-churches, the self-help books, the televangelists, the watering down of almost EVERYTHING, the commercialization, the Christian Music Industry, the strive for “relevance”…it all makes me kind of sick.

I think I understand what you’re saying. A lot of Catholics are attracted to these same things, too, and are leaving the church for these churchs.
