Why does the Lord wait until you make the first move? To turn to Him first before He makes Himself known? Tim

Technically He has made Himself known to us through the Bible and the Church…so it’s really our move He’s waiting for. I know that’s not the answer you’re looking for, but He is there waiting…

A passage from the Diary of St. Faustina (Jesus’ words, my bolding):
“I desire that priests proclaim this great mercy of Mine towards souls of sinners. Let the sinner not be afraid to approach Me. The flames of mercy are burning Me - clamouring to be spent; I want to pour them out upon these souls…Distrust on the part of souls is tearing at My insides. The distrust of a chosen soul causes Me even greater pain; despite My inexhaustible love for them they do not trust Me. Even my death is not enough for them.Woe to the soul that abuses these [gifts].”
He has made Himself known. I don’t know if this helps, I hope it does.:o I’ll pray for you. :crossrc:

Not sure He does wait. St. Paul seemed to think otherwise:
Romans 5: 8

But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.

We can’t make the first move. It’s all the grace of God, working in us to predispose us to cooperate with His loving plan. Even conversion is not of our own making–we must always remember that it is God who turns our hearts towards Him, for we cannot do it ourselves alone.

Well, I really think that God made the “first move” when He Willed each of us, into existence. But… then, He sort of seems to leave the rest up to us. He has given us all… the gift of free will. And He has revealed His “Word” to us. But, God will never force Himself on us. He wants us to love Him and to choose Him… but of our own free will. God bless. 🙂
