My daughter phoned me at 2:30 in the morning. Her best friend, wonderful mother of twin girls who are only 10, and a loving wife to her husband, died of a blood clot.
Although they are not a religious family, they have always been open to faith traditions, such as attending Midnight Mass with me many times. Actually the only reason I ever went to that busy Mass is because they wanted to go. I go to the earlier Mass if they’re not coming.
Kat, (Kathleen) was really the best friend my daughter ever had. She became my daughter’s friend when she was in the midst of being a really bad teenager (thug life) and helped mentor her to becoming a decent responsible girl. That was all of Kat’s doing, being a faithful, loving friend. I can’t think if her without memories of her bouncing into our house with a happy “Hi Mom!” She adopted me as her second mom and I would have been proud to have been her real mom. Such a vivacious loving woman.
I’m going on too much, but I’m still in shock. Please pray for Kat, her husband Craig, and her girls Taryn and Danica and my daughter Tara. I know they really need your prayers right now.
