You like some good music Jako. Knopfler is a pretty good guitarist. I love Sultans of Swing.
Thank you. Knopfler is a genius, along with Clapton and Angus Young. They are three of the best guitarists of the 20th century. Dylan is IMHO, the best songwriter of the 20th C. as well.

Catholics!!!

Aren’t a lot of the above bands’ lyrics morally questionable?
And we wonder why society is the way it is…

I’ve always been a fan of the old punk and hardcore bands like Black Flag or Ramones. especially if i’m in the gym.

I also forgot to mention…

ACDC
Van Halen
Jimmy Eat World
Aerosmith

I usually pay more attention to the beat of the songs more than the lyrics, especially when the lyrics are questionable, but not all lyrics are bad…plus alot of these bands I grew up listening to…if it were 3 or 4 years ago I would’ve had alot of rap artists on that list but since then I have gotten out of that genre thankfully…I love music!!!

My favorite band without question is O.A.R. (Of a Revolution). It’s rock music, with some island/Marley mixed in as well. Karen, you might like them. Go to archive.org’s live music archive, and get the 2004 Feeling Better than Everfine concert download (it’s free). For their last song they bring up all the other bands that performed at the concert and play “The Weight”. It’s an awesome rendition. They are one of the few bands that sound better live than in the recording studio.

My favorite singer is Hugh Jackman. I love his voice, and could listen to him talking or singing all day long. “The Boy from Oz” plays often in my cd player, and I do my best to just concentrate on the lovely voice and not the story of Peter Allen!

ETA: Eabe! Have you heard “I Feel Home” done with a cello? Man, those boys rock! We’re considering driving up to Chicago from Dallas later this summer just to go to Everfine this year and hear O.A.R. as they don’t come down here quite often enough!
