Rosarydevotion

Guest
Do you have a devotion that has really had a noticeable impact on your life?

For me, I have to say the Rosary has been wonderful. One of the things that the Rosary did for me is stop my panic attacks. This was huge for me! I sometimes say it three times a day. A few times a week I add the Divine Mercy Chaplet, but I have to say, I dont feel very drawn to this devotion. Are there any devotions that you don’t really feel drawn to after you tried to do it?

I like the rosary and try to say it daily. But I also like to say prayers as soon as I get up in the morning.
I say the morning offering I learned in 1st Grade…
O Jesus,
through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings
of this day for all the intentions
of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular
for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Amen.

And before I do anything else I kneel down and touch my head to the floor and say the prayer to the Father that the angel of Fatima taught the children.

This is an excerpt from a book on Fatima… Lucia, one of the three children writes…

We spent the day there, in spite of the fact that the rain had stopped and the sun was shining in a clear sky. We ate our lunch and began to say the Rosary. After that we began to play a game with pebbles. We had only been at it a few moments when a strong wind began to shake the trees and we looked up to see what was happening, since it was such a calm day. And then we began to see, in the distance, above the trees that stretched to the east, a light whiter than snow in the form of a young man, quite transparent, and as brilliant as crystal in the rays of the sun. As he came near we were able to see his features. We were astonished and absorbed and we said nothing to one another. And then he said:

“Do not be afraid. I am the angel of peace. Pray with me.”

He knelt, bending his forehead to the ground. With a supernatural impulse we did the same, repeating the words we heard him say:

“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.”

After repeating this prayer three times the angel rose and said to us:

“Pray in this way. The hearts of Jesus and Mary are ready to listen to you.”

I also noticed that the Rosary helped me with my anxiety, but it’s difficult for me to say it every day (I really should!)

My favourite devotion is to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, because it’s there that I can see the love God has for me and that I sometimes doubt. I really enjoyed reading the life of St Margaret Mary Alacoque and other saints that had a devotion to the Sacred Heart and has changed my spiritual life.

I don’t feel particulary drawn to the Divine Mercy devotion, the Stations of the Cross, the Holy Wounds of Jesus, the Holy Face of Jesus, the 5 first Saturdays devotion. I haven’t tried all of them, but I’m familiar with them. Who knows, it can change in the future.
