For the sake of discussion, let’s exclude Mary from this topic, because I’m expecting most people will mention her, being the most prominent and holiest of all saints.
Louis IX, because he responsibly and piously used his political power to help the faith, and was not corrupted by the position he held. I almost want Charlemagne and Constantine XI to be canonized for the same reason, though I don’t know enough about them myself to make the decision.
Also Thomas Aquinas and Augustine, because they used their knowledge and reasoning to conclude that the Catholic Church is the truth, as opposed to many intelligent scholars who conclude that it is a faulty religion. I myself am a fan of rationalism, and I’m always impressed by holy applications of logic.
