St. Michael the Archangel - helps me fight battles against temptation, and I’m quite certain he and the other holy angels protected me from quite a bit on the battlefields of Iraq
 
St. Bernadette helped me come home to the Church.
St. Benedict - his rule is simply amazing.

bl eugenie smet (devotee of holy souls in purgatory…she founded her own religious order that was devoted entirely to the holy souls)
st margaret mary (my confirmation saint)

etc there are tons more that i like…and every so often my “favourites change”…but my most favourite is st maria goretti

so many that are already mentioned but these who have not yet been:

my Confrimation Saint-- St. Martin of Tours (my C. name is Martine) because it took him so long to get baptized-he was a catechmen for years until our Lord asked him if he didn’t think it might be time to get baptized now (I can hear it tongue-in-cheek), and because he gave a poor beggar HALF his cloak (all he had–smart man!) and it turned out to be Christ, and
because all he wanted to do was be in solitude and they dragged him out to become a Bishop and he was very effective challenging the pagan priests.

Saint Dymphna patron of those with mental and nervous disorders, who escaped insane incest to be caught and beheaded by her own father along with the priest who saved her.

St. Veronica Giuliani–an ancestress of my husband, who was a mystic and practical at the same time. She levitated in ecstasies yet was an Abbess and installed new hot water system and improved the convent life while living secretly with stigmata and there were tokens found in her heart after she died that she drew diagrams of them in the exact spots they were found!

Blessed Margaret of Castello–a dwarf born blind and handicapped, she loved children and was abandonned and neglected but she lies now incorrupt and in the habit denied her in life. (her pictures are online-- avemaria.org/blmarpix.html ).

my fav saint is St. Joseph . He helps me everyday. I ask him to protect my family the way he protected Jesus and espicially Mary. He is a tower of strength to me. I feel his presence everyday. I truely belive my devotion to Mary led my to St Joseph.

I’d say it would be a toss-up between St. Frances of Assisi (I’m sure I don’t have it spelled right) and St. Stephen the Martyer. One expressed his fath with boldness and firmness that cut to the heart of those listening to him. The other was such a deep and simple spirit of Christ, obediant and humble at heart.

Frances (with an “e”) is usually feminine. Francis (with an “i”) is the masculine form.

I like St. Stephen as well- the first recorded Martyr for the Faith.👍
In the New Testament, I mean.
 
Not sure if he qualifies as a “martyr” but Saint Dysmas, the Good Thief" repented and asked Jesus to remember him when He enters His kingdom. You know the rest.

The “qualifier” could be when Dysmas rebuked the other thief and said they they each “deserved their fate” .

I also recommend her audiobiography and diary, which can be found in this book. The commentary by the authors is helpful, but not the best reason to get this book…the translations of St. Gemma’s writings is the reason:

St.Francis of Assisi - His complete dedication to Christ and his Christ like life, his help for the poor and his dedication to his brothers. His miracles are indeed awesome - read if you can - “The Little Flowers of St.Francis of Assisi.” Great Book!

I have no faviourite saint, for favorits I believe are of the earth (please no pun and no putdown to you), but as I mentioned in a few threads about littleones St Gemma is one I am re-reading and love her to bits she has so much purity, as St Therese the littleflower she is sooooo simple. Sooooo easy to follow no mathmatical equasions, no uncomprehendable thoughts or actions.
Just a beautiful person so blessed to give it all back to Jesus.

I have a few. First, St. Thomas Aquinas. I belong to St. Thomas Aquinas parish, so he holds a special place in my heart. Also, St. Cecilia is another favorite. I took her name as my confirmation name. I just think she has a beautiful story. St. Ann also, because she is the grandmother of Jesus and raised Mary to be such a wonderful woman.

St Pio of Pietrilcina - One of the most incredible and humble of saints you could ever find and obviously the countless miracles, stigmata, bilocation, readling souls, apparitions etc. and many here would have been been around in his lifetime and tons of the millions that came to him are still living.

St Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face (aka of lisieux / the little flower for short) - lead one of the most hidden lives and did the ordinary everday things to a heroic degree someone we can look up and learn from and follow easily if we wish, the little way of the soul, and true childlike faith, obedience and simplicity, plus she converted me by her “Story of a Soul”.
She is “the greatest Saint of our Times.” nothing more needs to be said.
