With Halloween approaching, I was just curious?

These are mine: Pet Semetary, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, It, Carrie, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Sixth Sense, and Signs.

The one that still creeps me out the most is The Shining (original).

I would not call it my favorite but rather the one that caused my jaws to clench the most and my knuckles to turn the whitest…Silence of the Lamb

So far the Exorcist. That scared me so bad. I am going tonight to watch the Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Dracula - Bela Lugosi (sp)

My favorite “scary” movie would have to be the *Texas Chainsaw Massacre. *It just really scared the jeepers out of me when I saw it and I was in my late teens. It is just so real and bizzare at the same time. Does that make sense?

The Exorcist scared me but for a completely different reason (and it is not on my list of favorites). I really liked the Silence of the Lambs, but I didn’t think it was that scary.

BTW, the *Exocism of Emily Rose *is a rather interesting movie, in my opinion. Although it skews a few aspects of the Church, it is pretty fair for the most part.

The Classic----------- Psycho :bigyikes: -------1960, I never get tired of watching it, and I love b/w movies for some reason.

Ohhh I can’t watch that stuff. sometimes I do and get so scared!!! I hate how the tv channels advertise for the new horror movies comming out. They scare the daylights out of me, especially ones with vampires or exorcisms. I can’t even talk about it anymore. The hair on my arm is standing on end.

OK I went and saw the Exorcism of Emily Rose and have to tell you that it was the scariest movie I have ever seen. I am still looking behind my back!

I thought *The Others *was a pretty good movie. It wasn’t really scary, but I think it’s considered a scary movie.

Scariest movie I’ve ever seen was *The Haunting Of Hill House *(1963)based on the Shirley Jackson novel.
The original with Claire Bloom, Russ Tamblyn was B&W and pure psychological horror.
The remake with Catherine Zita-Jones was just silly and gory.

I don’t watch too many scary movies because I’m a big baby when it comes to that stuff, unfortunately. But the last one I was convinced to see was “The Ring” and it scared the you-know-what out of me. At the end when she comes out of the TV - :bigyikes: I was jumpy around TV’s and phones for weeks.

The Ring - it scared the pants off me!
Funny story: I watched this with a bunch of girlfriends. About 10 seconds after the movie ended, one of their cellphones rang (coincidence). She nearly fainted.

“The Shining” scared me pretty bad. I thought “The Fog” was really good too and I see there is a remake coming out. I never saw “The Exorcist” in a theater and by the time I did see it I had heard all about it.

There is movie from the 70s called “The Sentinel” with Burgess Meredith and Chris Sarandon (sp?) about the gate to hell being under this house in Brooklyn. It sounds goofy but it really good. Catholics are featured here in what I think is a positive aspect - it is either a priest or a nun who is the sentinel - they guard the gates of hell. I highly recommend renting it. 😉

I will never, ever watch that movie again. Anthony Hopkins was so convincingly creepy; it was terrifying!

Others on my list are The Sixth Sense and that new one (well, within the last year) with Sarah Michelle Gellar where she’s in Japan. I can’t think of the name of it, but the scary ghost woman freaked me out.
