Pax et Bonum! Nice little prayer corner…it is important to have that special place where one can contemplate in silence and solitude. I refer to my wee place as my hermitage although I believe we all have a wee hermitage in our hearts. angeltime:signofcross:

Welcome to the forum, Lost4words. 🙂

Your dedicated area is really beautiful!

I love the drawings of St. Padre Pio, too. Those are great.

I don’t have one yet, but I know where it’s going to go – in my harp-room/office. My non-carpenter husband is building me a prie dieux right now; he brought home the mock-up last week. The final version is going to be made of cherry. I’m very excited. 😃

(I’d attach a picture of the mock-up, but I only see an option for image links, not files.)

Thank you. Nice you recognise St Padre Pio, my fav Saint…Drawn by me. many moons ago!

My prayer corner consists of a Crucifix, statues of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, The Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Fatima, The Infant of Prague, The Holy Family, Sts. Francis & Clare of Assisi, St. Michael the Archangel, a Holy Spirit plaque & a San Damian Cross.

I love your drawing of St. Pio, your very talented.

Sean, where did you get your statues of Our Lord and the two of Our Blessed Mother?

Your little prayer corner is very nice.
I got the statues of Jesus and Our Lady of Fatima of Ebay and I got the Praying Mary one from Amazon. 🙂

I meant to ask you if your had drawn those. Wow! You are also a very talented artist, too! 🙂

Those are really professional-looking portraits of him.

Here is mine.
Sean,

Yours is really beautiful, too.

I have an area in one of our bedrooms that I have always had sectioned off for a prayer area. I had started it in our last place, just due to limited space, and then I kept it after we moved. It’s on one of our end tables.

There is a crucifix right above it, and then I have some statues on it, and I keep prayer books and Bibles inside of the table.

I have a rocker right next to it, so I can sit right there and then pray there, for quiet.

I actually have items all over the place, in our home. There is a crucifix on each wall in every room.

There is also an area in our living room that has religious art in it, too. I have religious pictures in there, too, plus some statues on an end table in there.

I may move those statues into our bedroom, or I may leave those in the living room. I haven’t decided yet. 🙂

As i spend most of each day abed, there is a wide table at the foot of my bed with all the usual! Often has a cat there but that is fine… Candle, crucifix, pieta, rarely flowers…

First thing i see before lights out and vice versa… and crosses etc everywhere, I rescue them from charity shops…

My entire house is a real hermitage as the next house will be… named and graced .

That’s great, Rosebud! 🙂

I know someone who does the same thing–she goes to a thrift shop in our area and picks up the religious items there. She passed on a really pretty framed picture of Our Lady to me. 🙂

Got my pic of the ‘Face of Jesus’ up on the wall. Going to order a statue of our Blessed Mother Mary holding baby Jesus next and that will complete my little ‘Holy Corner’.

I have a little table (actually a plastic stand with drawers) covered with a nice cloth and some lace. On the wall I have a beautiful crucifix, a picture of Mary, and a picture of the Divine Mercy. On the table I have a candle and other sacramentals I’ve collected on my journey.

Just waiting to acquire a statue of Our Blessed Mother Mary and my little ‘shrine’ area will be complete. I have a little Bible here too and my prayer books.

I am far from devout though.
