I was wondering what other Eastern Catholics called Jesus or God. I know being a Syro Malabar Catholic we have many names for Jesus and God a few being-

Easho Mishiha
Yeshu Christu
Christu Rajav
Karthav
Mishiha Karthav
Alaha
Devam

Hospodi/Gospodi (Lord) Господи
Boh/Bog (God) Бог
Isus Christos (Jesus Christ) Исус Христос

Some Coptic words we use:

`P[oic (“Lord”)

`vnou] (“God”)

picwtyr (“Savior”; this is from Greek “σωτήρ”)

`Pouro (“King”)

Pimairwmi (“Lover of Man(kind)”; we also use the Greek loan word Vilan`;rwpe to mean the same thing in some very famous hymns like “Aripsalin”/“O sing unto Him”)

Actually, that last comment holds true for all the other words, too, depending on the context (i.e., Greek hymns and Greek phrases in Coptic hymns are still an integral part of the Church’s hymns, since the liturgy was originally celebrated in Greek at Alexandria).

Yep. In cyrillic, Боже. that’s a conjugated form of Бог.
It was also the Slovak variant used constantly by my grandmother of blessed memory, who was a pillar of faith, so that form and reference always has special attachment for me.

I generally use English since its my personal language but, I have a soft spot for Arabic, Coptic, and Greek. 😃
