to go further down that path, if there is a restoration that was necessitated by the apostasy then we should be able to see where teh current teachings and practices that are unique from the “apostate” align with previous teachings and practices. This is NOT the case with the LDS. The BoM doesn’t show current LDS unique doctrines/practices nor does the JST. The basis is D&C and modern revelation. Where in BoM or JST do you have eternal marriage? temple endowments? (and don’t give me it’s sacred so they didn’t talk about it cuz you can read Boyd K. Packers book on it at any LDS bookstore) Where is the “first presidency?” Where is the necessity of a quorum of twelve apostles? These comprise the most eternally important teachings and practices of the curent LDS church and yet we don’t see them in history even with Mormon scriptures. What got restored?
