EFT - emotional freedom technique, this was recommended by a website I was looking at for emotional troubles but I feel a little skeptical about it. It’s where someone taps while repeating something to feel better.

Just wondering what other peoples opinions about it are, eft.mercola.com/

Do sliding scales exist where you live? Why not talk to someone who can truly help you?

I actually met Dr. Mercola about 15 years ago. He really knows his stuff. I am not familair with EMT but if Dr. Mercola endorses it, I would sit up and listen.

Personally I think that life is a matter of personal experience, so the question is only really a matter of whether or not you think it works for you. It doesn’t matter if others believe it or whether or not there is a viable theory behind it. If it works for you - go with it. No one is smarter than you!

Go ahead and tap yourself silly while reciting positive affirmations like Stewart Smalley. Personally, I think it would give me a headache if I could keep from laughing at myself. This is unlikely because they recommend doing this act in front of a mirror.

Just one bit of advise: the minute they try to sell you anything - run.

I don’t think your kidding. I disagree that no-one is smarter than you in relation to no-one knows yourself better than yourself. And also that only you as the self knows what works best and is best for you. I don’t see the validity of this but I would be willing to listen to your understanding of this expression explained, as I may well be missing something.

I would suggest this very thinking has led many souls astray. No-one knows your innermost thinking better than yourself. I agree with that. However as this thinking is verbalized it may well be true than another does in fact know you better than you. The simple truth is you may truly believe in a self-destructive behavior and think in fact this is you, or an image of yourself is another example, this however may only be what you wrongly came to believe, and may be clearly seen by another who would in fact know you better than you on this specific point.

I imagine that many souls have been led astray by letting others do their thinking for them. Your life is about YOUR experience, and not what someone else has decided it should be. If we were all made to be cookie cutter Catholics or cookie cutter Protestants, and if only one cookie cuter was right, then there would only be the need for one person in this world. Our lives seem to be about experience. Anything meaningful I have been able to observe in life has to do with experience. The only thing that cookie cutter thinking serves is the needs of institutions and corporations. Having many like minded people buying the same ideas and consumer goods serves institutions and corporations very well. But how does that serve us? What does that do for your individual experience of life and the world you are creating?

The world around us is self destructive, and from the destruction comes new beginnings. It’s cyclical. The world is not the problem. The problem has to do more with the demands we place on it and the expectations that we have in regards to this outcome or that. The object is not the outcome, but the process. Again, it seems to be all about experience, and we are what creates experience. Experience doesn’t exist without us. We make it all happen. And in regards to your experience, well, no one is smarter on that topic than you.

Have you tried it? By the way. Laughing is strong medicine, so you might laugh your way to a better you.

I heartily endorse this! 👍

So when I see people with little bruises all over their face that I should leave them alone. 😛
