Do you have any proof of that?
She was married to a man for many years.
I’ve posted this once before but I think it worth bringing up again.

Joh 19:26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son.
Joh 19:27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.

If Mary had other children, wouldn’t they have been responsible to take care of her at Jesus’ death instead of John?

Concerning how it would be possible for Mary to maintain her virginity after the birth of Christ, I submit the following scriptures from the Old Testament.

Num 30:3 (30:4) If a woman vow any thing, and bind herself by an oath, being in her father’s house, and but yet a girl in age: if her father knew the vow that she hath promised, and the oath wherewith she hath bound her soul, and held his peace, she shall be bound by the vow:
Num 30:4 (30:5) Whatsoever she promised and swore, she shall fulfil in deed.
Num 30:5 (30:6) But if her father, immediately as soon as he heard it, gainsaid it, both her vows and her oaths shall be void, neither shall she be bound to what she promised, because her father hath gainsaid it.
Num 30:6 (30:7) If she have a husband, and shall vow any thing, and the word once going out of her mouth shall bind her soul by an oath,
Num 30:7 (30:8) The day that her husband shall hear it, and not gainsay it, she shall be bound to the vow, and shall give whatsoever she promised.
Num 30:8 (30:9) But if as soon as he heareth he gainsay it, and make her promises and the words wherewith she had bound her soul of no effect: the Lord will forgive her.
Num 30:9 (30:10) The widow, and she that is divorced, shall fulfil whatsoever they vow.
Num 30:10 (30:11) If the wife in the house of her husband, hath bound herself by vow and by oath,
Num 30:11 (30:12) If her husband hear, and hold his peace, and doth not disallow the promise, she shall accomplish whatsoever she had promised.
Num 30:12 (30:13) But if forthwith he gainsay it, she shall not be bound by the promise: because her husband gainsaid it, and the Lord will be merciful to her.
Num 30:13 (30:14) If she vow and bind herself by oath, to afflict her soul by fasting, or abstinence from other things, it shall depend on the will of her husband, whether she shall do it, or not do it.
Num 30:14 (30:15) But if the husband hearing it hold his peace, and defer the declaring his mind till another day: whatsoever she had vowed and promised, she shall fulfil: because immediately as he heard it, he held his peace.
Num 30:15 (30:16) But if he gainsay it after that he knew it, he shall bear her iniquity.
Num 30:16 (30:17) These are the laws which the Lord appointed to Moses between the husband and the wife, between the father and the daughter that is as yet but a girl in age, or that abideth in her father’s house.

Mary and Joseph were Jewish and followed the law of Moses. From the above scripture, it is possible Mary made a vow of chastity which would bind her father and husband if they did not speak against it when the vow was made.

Then I repeat the New Testament scriptures that I’ve already posted.

Joh 19:26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son.
Joh 19:27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.

And, I repeat the question.

If Mary had other children, wouldn’t they have been responsible to take care of her at Jesus’ death instead of John? Surely they would have followed the commandment;

Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayst be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.

Wouldn’t they?

Do you have any proof of that?

That’s a little insulting towards St. Joseph. He knew that Mary was the spouse of the Holy Spirit, and he knew his duty was to protect the Holy Family.

Greeting To You All:)

My question is for all sects of christianity, If Jesus pbuh got married and have kids what do you call his kids. God, Son Of God, or any other names. I heard from a person who told me that there is one lady who gave birth to some kid without male recently. Is that child is also Son Of God. Please explain or tell me if you knew about this child who born without father. Did some of you think or believes that jesus pbuh got married and mary pbuh have other kids beside jesus pbuh. This type of question insane me about jesus pbuh marriage and mary pbuh has other kids beside jesus pbuh which are not mentioned in Islam. Thanks For Answering Me Back In Advance:)
Hi tomshaikh,

If Jesus married and had children, the children would not be God - because the children would have been created. To be God, you need to have always existed - even before time.

Jesus was not created. He always existed (along with the Holy Spirit). It is true that Jesus became man about 2,000 years ago, but before that He always existed as God. It’s part of His divine nature. That’s why He is God.

Catholics don’t believe Jesus was married. (Although, there are analogies in the Bible that liken Jesus as the Groom and The Church as His Bride.)

Catholics don’t believe that Mary had other children. In fact, Catholics believe that Mary was always a virgin.

That is in the CC narrow view on Christ. We accept Christ as our Savior and try to follow his teachings our rejection of man made error is one of the things what separates us from other churches, but neither the CC nor any other man made club has the authority to dictate who and what we are.
I believe that the Holy Spirit is powerful enough to prevent the Church from going into apostasy and that the Church has been preserved by the Holy Spirit from going into error for over 2,000 years. In order to believe that Mormonism is true, I would have to accept that human beings were more powerful than the Holy Spirit and that the Lord let his children be led astray for over 1,000 years until Joseph Smith restored the true Church in 19th century America. It’s not believable to me. If we are going to believe in a transcendent God, we should believe He would preserve His Church and that He would not allow his children to live in error for over 1,000 years.

True Church is the name or you are saying that he build righteous/true church. Well As a Muslim I am not gonna accept other prophets which are coming after Prophet Muhammad pbuh. I apologize with my mormon friends.

When I say True Church, I mean the Church founded by Jesus Christ in 33 A.D., the Catholic Church.

Are you favouring Jospeh Smith. Sorry I have poor understanding of English.
No. I am saying that the Catholic Church is the Church founded by Jesus and is the true Church. Joseph Smith was a false prophet and his religion, Mormonism, is not from God.

So it may be; however the whole subject is far fetched, and it seems to be a lot of people reading a lot of nonsense into the scriptures. I have yet to see here scripture to uphold this thought.

I’d be careful with the false prophet and church not from God talk. glass house stones?

When you search your mind, heart, and soul.

When you read and learn everthing you can about the Mormon Cult.

When you read about the original church of Christ–The Catholic Church.

For when you believe that Christ as both Man and God walked upon this earth.

Was crucified, died, was buried, and rose again

Opened the gates of heaven for man to enter as man, Jesus conquering death as a result of our past sin.

We were made by God for His glory, and to glorify God for only then you will understand the peace, contentment, and love in yourself and of your Creator

You will find truth and that truth is the Catholic Church

How many Gods are there in the Mormon Church?

It appears we believe in a very different God than The one I know does not force his children to do anything. He calls and persuades, but he respects our ability to make choices even when they harm ourselves and others.

If you version of God is running things perhaps you could have him get rid of crime and hunger.

matt1618.freeyellow.com/celibacy.html

I haven’t read this thoroughly, but it looks okay at a glance.

I understand that traditionally Orthodox Jews separated themselves from a spouse or were celibate for the remainder of their lives once they encountered with God in a significant way.

Moses separated himself and remained celibate for the remainder of his life. Continuing along that line of thinking. Mary and Joseph were Jewish. They both were celibate in the relationship. Jesus set the example himself, being God and Man, hypostatic union. Early heresies existed that tried to push away from the divinity of Christ or the humanity of Christ. There were some variations in there as well. Trinity was defined and voila, we have the 3 persons in one God. NOT multiple Gods. It is a mystery beyond our grasp. But that was what the early church leaders, apostles taught and passed on through sacred tradition [not man made tradition, there is a difference here that took me nearly a life-time to figure out].

Anyway, Mary remained a virgin her entire life we’re taught. The reason is as stated above and further there is no reason to think otherwise except that many in the worldly world of modern times especially can’t fathom someone abstaining from sex. Almighty God knows we need SEX!.. How crude. Scripture tells us to train our eyes and desires [dialoging here]. It’s amazing to me that Chrisitians can beleive a woman conceived a child without relations with a man and then turn around and act like nothing special really happened and have sex with an older man for pleasure…??? That’s bazar to me. When I was a fundamental evangelical I really didn’t have a problem with the idea of Mary being a Virgin her entire life. Many preachers didn’t have a problem with it. In fact, some of them even conceded that it was probable, but kept a safe distance for the occassional scrupulous skeptic.

Think about it for moment. It would have been quite the scandal for a Jewish family to abandoned their mother at the foot of the Crucified Christ. They would have been chastised, even if they didn’t believe that Jesus was the messiah. It’s Jewish Tradition that’s being overlooked. Jewish Tradition is much like Catholic /Church Tradition. The Orthodox have it too. In fact, most ecclesial communities that refer to themselves as churches have a kind of sacred tradition that is usually unspoken. But trust me…they do exist, I was on their side once. Preachers lose jobs all the time.

I hope that helps a little here. It’s late and I have to go to bed now.

He doesn’t force us to believe in Him, but He does protect the Church for those who choose to believe. The Church has remained one, holy, catholic, and apostolic—not through man’s effort, but because God preserves the Church he established (Matt. 16:18, 28:20). He did not allow it to go into apostasy. Jesus promised to guide his Church into all truth (John 16:12–13). The Bible calls the Catholic Church “the pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Tim. 3:15). We can have confidence that His Church teaches only the truth. Believing in an apostasy contradicts Scriptures, the Word of the Lord.

If all people followed the teaching of Jesus Christ, we wouldn’t have poverty and hunger. The existence of greed has nothing to do with the fact that the Holy Spirit protects the Truth of the Church Jesus founded.

I have no idea what you are talking about. We have no prophets, false or otherwise, in the Catholic Church who have come after Jesus claiming to have new public revelation. And the authority of our bishops and Popes comes directly through the Apostles, Apostolic Succession, with the laying on of hands, for over 2,000 years.

Apostolic succession:

You can see the authority of Pope as succeeding from Peter in this list of 2,000 years of Popes:

newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm

Where does the authority of the Mormon church President come from?

Well I said that I donot believes in any Prophet who comes after Muhammad pbuh in my previous post and I do sorry with christian friend Coz in christianity christians believes that jesus pbuh God or Son of God. So I didnot agree with both religion. And I believes that jesus pbuh never taught this about himself.
