Your outdoor Christmas display

Okay, so Christmas is just around the corner now, and I thought it would be a cool idea to see what other people’s Christmas decorations are like. I have a great time setting up the lights and nativity on my family’s house and yard every year, but I would like to try something a little different this year, so maybe I’ll get some inspiration for this year’s decorations. So if any of you want to show off your Christmas display, please feel free to share it with the rest of us.Plus I just like seeing what other people come up with when it comes to Christmas lights, no two houses are ever the same.:D:christmastree1:

On the outside we have a lit Nativity scene, complete with a stable. Then we have a sign on the Lawn from the K of C saying “Keep CHRIST in CHRISTMAS”, and we have the door rail covered in garland and lights. On the Front door we have a large wreath with Santa and the inscription “Noel” above his head. On the Gate we have a Wreath (At least I think we put it up again this year…).

Yep, and of course my room is totally decked out. I am so grateful and thankful to be Catholic because I couldn’t celebrate Advent or CHRIST’S-MASS without being a Catholic. I feel really sorry for those who Celebrate CHRIST’S-MASS and have no religious affiliation or very little. It would be so empty and superficial without celebrating the Birth and Anticipating the return of Our Little King JESUS.

I’m unable to have an outside rig due to the design of my home. However, if I did I’d like to have a nativity with a cut out of richard dawkins as a shepherd doing a homer simpson type “doh!” 😃

I have a perpetual “living Nativity” of sorts- a pasture filled with sheep and we have a donkey as well. We live so far from the road that we don’t decorate outdoors much, but feeding the sheep or checking on the flock at night is a very significant thing for me. I can ponder the majesty of God and the adorable humilty of the Lamb in coming down to earth veiled in flesh, even while strewn across the sky are millions of stars. I feel very close to those shepherds who were the first to hear of His birth. There is something sublime and infinitely humbling about it. St. Francis did well in instituting live Nativity scenes.

Classic!

I like nice, perfectly straight lines of lights along the roofline. It is the engineer in me I suppose.

Also I find the inflatables really stupid and I’m glad to see they are not popular in my new neighborhood!

I chucked out loud at this statement.
Ah, when I look out my front window I see 2 perfectly deflated blobs of plastic(?) across the street. You see, this colourful pool will soon pop up as a santa and snowman, but alas, the weather is mild and no wind and so I am a safe. However I do see a line of 3ft candy canes in a perfect row… The things one must endure!!!
 
I have colored lights across the front of the house, lighted garland on the lamppost, and a couple of lit up bushes. We also have a wreath on the door and some giant ornaments hanging from the tree in our front yard. I’m excited as we stand to inherit my mom’s light up yard angel. We also have a leg lamp in the front bedroom, which can be seen through the window.

I wish you all would post some pictures! 🙂

We do all our Halloween decorating outdoors, and all our Christmas/Hanukkah decorating indoors (except for a wreath on the front door).

Very cool.
If any of you can post pictures, I think most of us would appreciate that. They say ‘‘a picture says a thousand words’’, and a description just isn’t the same.
