Good day everyone and GOD bless…Well it has happened again, I have shown precancerous cells again in my tests and it looks like these are a bit more advanced…I am trying to keep a positive note on this and GOD willing it turns out for the better, but in either case I would appreciate your prayers. It’s been 6 months since I have had to worry about this and they had disappeared last time, hopefully this time with your help from your prayers, GOD may turn his merciful eyes towards me and keep me in his heart and help me heal from this…I am scared but trying to keep the faith…I thank you and hope you have a great day!

I needed to add this your advice is appreciated:

PS: I wanted to add that my mother has asked me to have my cervix removed, she told me and I quote: “All that is good for is to give you health problems, every woman in our family right after they had the last kid they wanted their cervix was removed, even your 2 grandmothers had them removed…Why wouldn’t you?! It will save you all these health issues and you won’t have to worry about cervical cancer any more!” I told her that it was against GOD to do so but she doesn’t believe me…and told me that nothing in the Bible states that…I was wondering if there is any quote in the Bible that states it is wrong to remove your cervix unless it’s a life and death situation? Any advice at all about this is greatly appreciated. I am not sure what to do and a bit worried. Thanks in advance…

I really am so sorry you’re dealing with this health threat, and ask the Lord to guide you on what He wishes for you and your children.
I ask Him to kindly heal you

…as for advice, I only have my family’s story:

My mother was 43. She had nine children and two miscarriages, and her doctor told her, “if you have another pregnancy, it will most likely kill you.” He advised a hysterectomy. My mother decided against his advice despite her condition. She became pregnant again, miscarried and died leaving nine children ranging up from four years old. The effects on her chldren were lifelong and life changing. So much grief, so much damage.
What should she have done?
What are God’s wishes?
Does He wish a mother to be there for her children?

I am really sorry to hear about your family’s story. I am really lost…And am terrified of such a fate… Thanks for sharing your story but now I am even more scared…Thanks for your prayers…I will keep you in mine. God bless…

I didn’t mean to cause you further pain. I’m sorry.
Can you speak to a good priest about this, whether God puts loving and being there for your children as the greater good?

All I do know is how much Jesus values children. He didn’t speak of the cervix or anything about the reproductive system, but He did talk about children, how much He loves and values them.

“You have trained children and babies to offer perfect praise.” [Matthew 21:16] “See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven.” [Matthew 18:10]
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs. I tell you solemnly, anyone who does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Then He put His arms around them, laid His hands on them and gave them His blessing.” [Mark 10:14-16]

“The disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ So He called a little child to him and set him in front of them. Then He said, ‘I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’” [Matthew 18:1-4]

“Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless You, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased You to do.” [Matthew 11:25-26] “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes Me. But anyone who is an obstacle to bring down one of these little ones who have faith in me would be better drowned in the depths of the sea with a great millstone around his neck.” [Matthew 18:5-7]

No don’t be sorry, it’s ok, you were trying to give me advice and that’s what I have asked…It’s just that being confused on what to do all ready and then hearing about the tragedy of losing your mother, it just confuses me even more because I want to do the right thing, but I am not sure which one it is…Is it taking out my cervix because it might cause a life and death situation down in the nearby future denying my future husband the opportunity to have children together just because I am trying to be cautious without really knowing? Or not take it out and run the risk such as your mother in a nearby future?!

Yes I will definitely pray and speak with our priest. He’s not available for another week so it will have to be until then…I was all ready told by the doctor’s I probably wasn’t going to be able to have children any how, and this just aggravates me even more… 😦

Thanks anyhow it’s appreciated and please dear don’t feel bad at all, it’s ok. I am just trying to fight my own demons and let me tell you I am failing horribly!!! Take care…

I don’t think you’re failing, you’re hurting and grieved, and confused, but you’re a good loving mother and a good person. I just ask Jesus to heal you and to ensure the best for your children, you well and strong, and with them. As you say, pre-cancerous, not cancerous,
Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit please heal my sister of her cancer and rescue her from this dilemma.

:hug1::coffee::coffee:
With love, Trishie
I ask my Angel to go to you and hug you for me.

thank you Trishie…I appreciate it…And yes, I am really lost and confused…with so much all ready going on, it’s really hard to keep a straight face and a happy one at that…I am trying…And hoping for the best…

Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your hugs! :D:crossrc::grouphug::blessyou:

I must go to bed now as it’s after midnight here in Australia, but I’ll be praying for you as I go to sleep, and when I go the Mass in the morning.
We’ll storm heaven for you!

Your mom is right in this case. There is NOTHING “against God” in removing a cancerous organ. Whether that be your cervix or your gallbladder! If this is your second bout with precancerous cells on a pap smear, I think you should seriously consider the option of at least a partial hysterectomy. If you wait until the cells become cancerous on the pap smear, they might have spread to other areas, and your health and life could really, truly be under threat!

Just because these happen to be reproductive organs does not mean we are risk sacrificing our lives to keep them intact! And you do have children to raise. You owe it to them to think about the fact that they need their mother, here and healthy.

It is not “pro-life” to martyr yourself unnecessarily. Please, take care of your health, for your own sake and your children’s! I am not saying you should or must have anything removed, but you need to be open to that treatment option.

Thanks for the advice…Will definitely keep this in mind. Unfortunately the doctor’s office is closed today so have to wait till tomorrow to hear what is going on and how things really are…

I am glad there is nothing in the Bible that prohibits or speaks against it…Now I feel a little more relaxed about it…And will keep this as an option…Thanks for your advice. And yes my children are first, after GOD of course…Thanks again!

I’m glad you feel a little better about it. I know it can be hard to think about… even though I’m not really using mine anymore, it would feel sad and like the end of something to remove those organs. (By not using them, I mean DH and I have decided not to have more children. 😉 They still work.)

But I also know that my mom had precancerous cells like yours on her cervix. Her doctor recommended in fairly strong terms that she have a hysterectomy, and since her own mother died of ovarian cancer, she told him to take her ovaries too.

If I was in your situation, I would be strongly considering removal.

I am sorry… this must be so scary!

Yes it is scary and even worse that I wanted more children but I guess it’s not in GOD’s plans…Well we’ll see what happens tomorrow and how terribly depressed I will be! lol Well take care and GOD willing all will work out. Thank you for your help and support…

I have a question…If I have to have my problem removed, does this mean I would have to abstain from sex, once married, because it will no longer be made for procreation since I won’t be able to have any more children?

No, of course not! You would be infertile through no fault of your own, as the indirect result of treating a medical problem! The unitive aspect of marital relations would remain intact.

Under that thinking, every married woman who had a hysterectomy, or who went through menopause would immediately have to stop making love with her husband. Not only does that make no sense, it is not Catholic teaching.

Boy, this stuff sure does confuse people. I can’t believe you even for a second thought that might be required. The Church is strict, but she in not unreasonable, nor cruel.

thanks since I am a bit behind on Catholic teachings and still have much to learn, it’s been a real rude awakening…I just wanted to make sure about certain things you know? Thanks for the info…

Please, be at peace and worry about the stuff you HAVE to worry about, like your health!

thanks trying to do so…believe me…everything I have tried regarding PCOS, insulin issues, obesity etc just keeps backfiring on me…Will definitely need to go back to the doctor about other things as well. Thanks for your help…

contacted the doctor this morning, it’s positive for a second time, but the doctor doesn’t wish to do anything about it…at least not for another 4-6 months. I am feeling horrible, and depressed. It took the mercy of GOD to help me grab the phone and call and find out the verdict only to hear, “it’s what doctor’s do, I just wanted to make sure it was still there, we will follow up in about 4-6 months!” I was like HUH? I don’t know what to do now… Even more confused than ever.

I keep thinking he’s going to wait till it spreads all over the place and then I will have no way of being saved, or take it out without it really being anything that dangerous? He doesn’t give me clear information, he gives me the run around and it’s frustrating.

I am going to see my regular phys next friday, I will speak with her and ask her beg her demand her I dont know but someone has to be able to help me out here and let me know how bad my situation is…And what options I have instead of making me wait another half a year to get answers…

I am taking some St Johns Wort hopefully this will bring my mood up better because I can’t stand myself. Wanting to lock myself up in a hole and never come out and I need to feel better, have to be happy for my children I can’t let this get me down…More than what it has…

I am trying to vent here, usually that helps me feel a little better and can move on from this…soon…

Thanks everyone for your prayers, concern, love and care…It’s greatly appreciated. God bless and take care…
