Your thoughts about astral projection? + a story in description

One day I was sitting still trying to lucid dream with my eyes closed, so I did not do ANYTHING, I was just laying down, not moving an inch then suddenly, I felt my spirit lift up before I knew it, I was out of body but I quickly went into my body. Woah! thoughts??

P.S. I saw my dad walk into the kitchen in the morning to get some orange juice then when I asked him in the morning, he said he did get orange juice!! :eek:
 
I dont believe its any more than your imagination and wishfull thinking,

I doubt you,ll find many astral projection experts here, its a CATHOLIC forum, and the catholic church forbids all occult and new age practices

I don’t know if you were aware, but astral projection is an occult practice. It is very dangerous to your soul. What you describe may not be exactly the projection,but I would advise you to cease and desist for your own welfare. I’m not sure if lucid dreaming is in the same catagory as astral projection,but you playing with very serious demonic beings in the occult.

you guys don’t need to worry, if I ever astral project again, I’ll just call Jesus Christ to get me out of it but… when I astral projected, nothing seemed bad about it, I met my guardian angels… and I even met God… what?? do you think it was Satan and his disciples tricking me?? 🤷
 
Cecilia, I don’t feel that you dabbled in the occult or anything like that and I can see where astral projection would be very useful, for example while one is enduring dental work or when you’re older and your knees are trying to kill you…(that’s me). And I’m would NEVER presume to tell you that this is a CATHOLIC forum and thereby imply that your question was somehow out of line, mainly because this forum welcomes everyone, including athiests so to do so would be ridiculous and rude.

BUT…I don’t believe in astral projection, my guess is that you were experiencing a form of self hypnosis and the orange juice thing was deductive reasoning that you were applying unconsiously to validate your claim. I’m not saying that something didn’t happen, but why on Earth would the evil spirits go to so much trouble when we’re so easily led into temptation?

You’re on the right track to protect yourself if you worried it might happen again, but try not to worry too much about it. Another thing, if it were real wouldn’t the government be using it to spy on our enemies instead of going to the trouble of having a CIA?

Before I rediscovered my Catholic faith I dabbled in lucid dreaming, it is not something that I would recommend. Now I realize how wrong I was thanks to God, lucid dreaming gave me a desire for power as in all things in the occult. Even though lucid dreaming is not astral projection it certainly leads to this. I do not know wether it is real or not(probably not) but what it does is gives you a desire for power that will end up corrupting you. I speak from experience so I don’t know about you but I would really implore you to pray to God about this.

I’ve never heard of lucid dreaming, what is it?
I have had day dreams and I knew my mind was trying to be imaginative.
I have had night dreams that seemed so real that it didn’t feel like a dream at all.
Never heard of lucid dreaming, tho

Its when you dream while knowing you are dreaming so you can control your dreams. People either try to achieve this by falling to sleep while repeating a phrase in their minds or forcefully putting themselves into a stat of sleep paralysis. By itself I do not think that it is part of the occult but its what it leads to that I worry about since “astral projection” might happen by accident especially by putting one self into a state of sleep paralysis. If you don’t know what sleep paralysis is, its a state the body goes into after or before REM sleep when your body is asleep yet your mind is awake so you feel paralyzed, people experience visions and other experiences of the like while on this state.

Yes the evil spirits do appear as angels of light. they will do anything to get you to continue the practice.Do not be deceived. Stay away from that practice. It really is evil. By entering the astral state, you are giving demons permission to embrace you. That is a very serious place to be. I will pray for you. God bless you, Peace, Tom
