Hi! I know that the videos I created a couple years ago are discussed here with some regularity. I’m in a place where I can expand the project and I’m a little excited! I made a humble web home for it on blogger, so now I’m ready to get to work! For those not familiar with it, I am the proverbial curious cat, asking questions and having much to learn. I decided to document the answers I was getting from those who are much wiser than I am and put them online. I don’t want to re-word or re-write or teach; I want to provide an avenue, a connection, so that we can all learn together straight from the experts. Then most of the video I took was lost in a hard drive crash, some major life events happened, and my 6 finished videos sat on YouTube without addition for years. Until now! 😛

I’m going to be starting with posts and articles and branching out from there. I hope to get the written work built up enough to have enough for at least weekly content mostly managing itself and then I’ll be able to start working on videos again. I’m thinking that it will take about 6 months to get to that point, but that’s a guess.

I am fairly certain there is still a need for this type of information, but I’m a little out of the loop on what topics are of the most interest right now. If there are any requests for people or topics you’d like to see addressed, especially right now in written format, I could see what I could do about getting them done. I’d be grateful for any prayers and advice as I move forward!

Adiós,
Catherine

Christ is born!
Welcome, welcome, welcome, Catherine! I hope some of those major life events you’ve had were good ones, and that there will be no hard drive crashes ahead.

This is GREAT news!!! I look forward to whatever you come up with. Indeed I just referred someone here to your Your Word From The Wise HRM interviews last night (or perhaps very early this morning LOL!) The length of those interviews and the specific focus of each make them really great references.

I just noticed also that the monks have put those interviews onto their new site in a different way than the link on their old site. I didn’t link to that HRM location because I don’t see it includes the "(more info) " link to all your questions, which I have found very valuable on the versions on Youtube.

Requests for people? I think the HRM monks are always great. They’re articulate and they have a strong ecumenical interest and experience. I’d like hearing from monastics. Fr Loya is also of course a good interview. I took a series of 5 classes last year taught by a EC priest on the Holy Mysteries in a Latin Diocese program. It was the Diocese first use of an EC teacher. I was the only EC in the classes, all the other students were from the Latin Church. Fr. Anthony grew up in the Latin Church and then changed canonically before being ordained, I believe. Anyway he is very orthodox, with a clear understanding of the Latin mind as well. I think he’d be an excellent one to interview. I’m Byzantine as are all these I’d be interested in more Oriental voices.

We had a Matushka and a Diaconissa posting here briefly. It’s a busy time of year. I hope they’ll be back, It would be great to have some clergy wives interviewed. (I’m more familiar with the Matushkas/Presbyteras who have podcasts on Ancient Faith Radio.) (Oddly enough it sometimes has seemed like I am the only EC female active in CAF EC section. )

If you take a look at the recent threads here you’ll see there is some good material there to mine. I think living authentic orthodox sacramental lives as EC/OC in a contemporary world interests me. That could be about liturgical praxis. About fasting norms. About marriage and family. About “being Eastern/Oriental in a sea of Romans” as was the topic in a presentation in my parish earlier this month. I’m a senior citizen but I’d really like to see topics that speak to our youth.

Again, it’s wonderful to see that you’re coming out with new material! 😃 And thank you a million fold for those earlier 6 videos. 👍

P.S. Now I see you were here in '09 and I didn’t remember or realize it. So it’s welcome back! :o

Thank you for the welcome!

I now have a fancy network raid array that keeps multiple copies of everything, so I hope there are no more crashes as well! I don’t know what I’d do if that went, too.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will look into them.

Merry Christmas and Welcome Catherine! Your videos have been an immense help and a great teaching tool.

Please interview Father Maximos Davies more. He is amazing!

Keep up the wonderful work!

I will let him know you said so and will see what I can do.
