Hi all! Question: does anyone know of a college online that offers a Catholic Youth Ministers Certificate program? I have discovered my passion for youth ministry and working with middle school youth (found it through teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade Religious education through my parish). I’m 20, and have never felt more sure about a vocation in my life.

In this archdiocese certification for catechists at all levels comes from courses offered by the Office of Religious Education. One of the types of certification is for youth ministry and confirmation. You may want to check with your own diocese to see what they have available.

If you’re thinking about working full time in a parish, a master’s degree in theology or a related field is the typical foundation people have.
