Youtube cartoons may be grooming by pedophiles

From Investigating Youtube:
There has been a growing trend on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app, which we believe may present a serious and immediate danger to our youth.
Tens of thousands of videos targeted toward children contain not just adult topics, but an apparent checklist of degenerate themes.
Recurring themes include:
Dismemberment
Kidnapping
Scat and urine fetishism
Drug injections
Pregnancy and abortions
Learned helplessness
To be clear, this is not a case of adult videos being misidentified as child friendly. Nor is this a case of kids straying from the confines of the YouTube kids section. These videos are being curated towards children. The content creators use search terms which would commonly be searched for by a child or a parent who is planning on entertaining their kid with YouTube.
The suspicious videos are disguised as innocent education and superhero videos.
As our research team continues to connect the dots, we worry the children that are still being exposed to these videos may be afflicted by lasting trauma. The themes, tactics and repetition these videos exhibit cause us to believe there may be an active attempt at grooming on a mass scale. We have an ongoing video series on our YouTube channel, so you can follow along with our research.

From Investigating Youtube:
Well, it’s a disturbing trend. When youtube was first launched, they had issues with advertisements for pornography sites in their comment sections.

Now because Youtube uses regular ads, the shady folks have to try and get in through the back door like this.

The use of popular children’s characters to advocate these ideas is scandalous and parents need to be aware of it.

Youtube itself has very backwards censorship policies that mainly target critics of Islam, feminism, social justice and Black Lives Matter.

Don’t expect them to do the heavy lifting here.

There must be ways to put pressure on Youtube to implement better kid friendly policies. A few lawsuits?

What a frightening trend. I am so concerned about the impact (as are others I know) this type of subtle grooming could have on our children. Sadly, I don’t have the answers as to how to stop Utube from posting such stuff. I hope someone with more knowledge than I can do so.

“Learned helplessness” is universally imposed through commerce and administration (via NLP-like “psychology” and algorithms). From what I get to hear (not having my own children) school materials and teachers in the UK - backed by Conservative MPs - now teach underage children that sex is by definition consensual.

What if a girl is too polite to say no, or a boy (whose obsessions in regard to manner of relating have been fired, partly, by adults) is not all that thoughtful?

(In same-sex terms the issue is the same.)

Grown ups stand around idly not teaching the young how to resist gang pressure which they themselves are all too implicated in.

Every supermarket sells Minions which allegedly are food (a joke is a joke - fine - until it begins to be lost on us). Well you are what you eat!

Not watching it will help.

Oh for certain, I agree. I just wonder how many young people are watching Youtube cartoons not knowing the subtle indoctrination that might be in what they are watching.

I’m not sure I’d call this content “curated”, as they suggest. YouTube is pretty infamous for pretty much being run by algorithms that are honestly garbage. This is disturbing, yes, and folks should certainly urge YouTube to get their act together but this issue has less to do with YouTube showing it to kids and more to do with twisted individuals manipulating their automated programs.

The most messed up part is these are just likely content mills set up to get views, therefor ad revenue, and since the sheer volume of them is overwhelming it’s almost impossible for YouTube to police.

It most certainly is curated toward children. This has nothing to do with YouTube algorithms. It is not YouTube doing this, but on what the producers of the cartoons are doing, as explained by the link I provided.

Here is another good video from a cartoon YouTuber on this same topic:

He takes a different approach from the Investigating YouTube videos since he could not get ahold of some child psychologists to discuss what these types of videos can do to kids or whether they are made by pedophiles. He discusses when these types of videos began, their possible origins, and the motives from making them from a financial perspective. One of the most interesting things he mentions is that these sorts of videos make more money on YouTube than video game let’s plays.

Very informative video and I highly recommend it.

Probably too many, and one is of course too many. But a lot of 13-21 yo now get a lot of their information and news from social media like youtube.

Well they are effective in targeting anyone whose politics and social commentary don’t reflect SJW views.

Thanks. Good video.

My specialty in my mental health counseling career is not in Child psychology, but I do have experience working with a former commissioner on the Johnson Commission for Pornography and Obscenity, Father Morton Hill and his Morality in Media. Victor B. Cline did some research on the effects of violence and pornography. His book, “Where Do You Draw the Line?” outlines this research. I also have some experience as a parent.

To put it bluntly, the cut 'em up gore movies, these cartoons, and other such media bludgeon and rape the minds of our children. Personally, I consider it child abuse when parents allow this. For these panderers and exploiters of children to have a free ride on Youtube and make millions in the bargain is disgusting in the extreme.

I’m in no way defending this kind of garbage, although I find it hard to understand how “cartoons” so crudely made can hold anyone’s attention when there is so much better-realized material out there. But I’m old enough to remember when almost exactly these kinds of charges and accusations were made in the “great comic book scare” of the 1950’s.

These are targeted to children, not adults. Little children could care less about the quality.

Curating usually implies a degree of quality… Those are more or less content farms, designed to exploit YouTube’s tagging system to hit an audience they know they can get a lot of views from; unsupervised children.

I also don’t think there’s some plan to groom kids into pedophiles… Yes, they could certainly be damaging to children but its more a byproduct of the end goal. These channels are set up to make money and nothing else.

Curated means to “select, organize, and present”. No “quality” need be implied. These cartoons are selected, organized, and presented.

You really do not know much about how grooming works, nor about how these cartoons are damaging to children in general and not as a byproduct. The fact that they make so much money shows the nature of the deliberate content.
