The courage of the martyrs is unbelievable. Standing up for your faith in the face of death is most courageous and wonderful
 
Eh, too dramatic. I like the Paul Scofield version better. Itā€™s not so self-aware.

Yea, this Henry Vlll is handsome. Nothing like other movies portray him as.
Of course you can also see the ā€˜executionsā€™ of Ann Boyen and Katherine Howard his 2nd and 5th wives on youtube.

I actually just rented this series through Blockbuster and the reason I like it so much is precisely because it doesnā€™t demonize Katherine of Aragon and those who were being faithful to the Catholic Church like other movies about this do. I felt so drawn to Katherineā€™s cause and really loved St. Thomas More all the better because I saw this. It prompted me to go look up more about this man and I kept thinking when I saw this, ā€œGod Bless Thomas Moreā€.
Hopefully, this will inspire more people to look into the Blessed Saints of our faith. His reward in heaven is surely great.

Heā€™s nothing compared to Charles Brandon(see :47 on the youtube clip).

This was the most riveting scene of the entire series, even more so than Anneā€™s execution. I kept expecting something to stop it. Out of all the executions this was the one I wanted there to be a different ending for.:crying:
 
I wish there was a clip of the Execution of Cardinal Fisher, i remember it being very powerful (I think it was season one)

And the Tudors is an amazingly well done show on Showtime. If you like The Tudors, chances are you will also probably like Rome which aired on HBO A few years back

Well, though always lecherous, Henry VIII was actually extremely handsome in his youth. The show has that part right. It was not until later (Jane and beyond) that Henry VIII started getting so fat.

And I absolutely loved that scene. Also Cardinal Fisherā€™s death scene, too.

I wish someone would agitate for the canonization of Katharine of Aragon. šŸ‘
 
I actually think Henry Cavill(Charles Brandon) wouldā€™ve been a better choice for Henry. Every time heā€™s in a scene with JRM I canā€™t take my eyes off of him. I know a lot of other women feel the same way, and that seems kind of counterproductive since JRM plays the leadc character.

Yes I agreeā€¦I wish that hadnā€™t cut parts of this movie to make it fit someones TV timeā€¦I recall the original version and when I got the DVD it was not includedā€¦It made the edited version seen sort of chopped up, and slightly confusing
