Hi everyone,i just wanted to ask.Is it okay or is it sinful to download Youtube videos for educational purposes?

For example, videos about anatomy, physiology, biochemistry etc…(im taking medicine course)
Im just using it to study on the go and all that, put it in my phone and watch it in the train and whatnot.

So,my intention is for education…

Thanks in advance

I highly doubt that it is wrong to download from YouTube… If there are videos for which
you have to make a purchase to watch temporarily then cheat by downloading, that’s
probably bad to do… I also believe that YouTube has it set up so that there are some
you can actually download, while other videos simply cannot be downloaded (without
good hacking skills), so I guess it all depends on what the video in question is.

I have a few add-ons supported by Mozilla Firefox internet browser that
allows me to download videos, mostly for educational purposes as well,
religious debates, documentaries, and so forth, available on YouTube.

No.

depends on the video and the use you give it.

i dont think there is a problem when you download a video to show at class, like i dont think you would have a problem if you would copy pages from a book for a class, altough some authors might dislike people downloading them. if you want them to have more credit for the video, if you can just show the video from youtube directly.

now there is something else, if the video it’s illegal itself, like if they put a documentary on youtube that is not free of use, or the author is not allowing the usage, like if history channel is puting a video of one of their documentaries in their original channel, i think you are allowed to use it, not sure if download it, but at least you can show it from youtube to your class.
