A very good video. Feminists need to see it. Growing up, I was told by my parents and teachers that I was no one unless I had a degree, and money, so I didn’t have to be dependent upon anyone. (That means no one better be dependant on me!) In our society, thats what measures success. Well, I was never lonlier, because there was no one but me to take care of. I aborted my only daughter, and later on neglected my other kids. If someone was an obsticle, they were pushed out of the way, in order for me to get ahead.

Thats why this video was so refreashing to see and hear. It gets back to basics, what God really made us for. Thank-you for sharing it.

Same here, naysa! I was ā€œthe smart girlā€ who was supposed to grow up and have this big important career … and do big important things as an academic and university professor. I believed that I ā€œhad toā€ go on and get my doctorate. That’s what I was supposed to do.
Now that I’ve resolved to quit grad school and be a SAHM (we’re waiting to adopt baby boy #1, first of many, from Ethiopia) I felt so much better about life in general.
The most fulfilling thing I’ve done this week (keep in mind, I still am in school for another year)? Yesterday I worked on doing the laundry and getting the house ā€œsocial worker cleanā€. I finished our bedroom, and moved furniture in the beginning prep to make room for our son. When I said my prayers at night, I thanked God over and over for the chance to do something that really mattered - to quietly serve my family.
If people in school knew I was posting this, they would FREAK OUT and tell me I’m both oppressed and insane. I’m thinking they would recommend de-programming 😃 .
