My children think 7 or 8, not sure. They played Roller Coaster Tycoon at about that age. As long as they can work the computer well, they can play. It’s really fun. You manage zookeepers, you can assign them jobs. You can release the animal to the wild, you can go into guest mode and walk around, and that’s how you tend to the animals, clean up poop, clean the penguin water, etc.

There’s a free online trial version that the kids tried, so my daughter decided to buy the full version with her own money.
 
I was addicted to Dune 2000 once…I can still hear my base being destoryed by Harkonnens…and my cries of despair after mining all that spice…all gone…nooo!
 
We’ve got RCT3 - my 6-year-old is currently building this awesome theme park.

My husband and I have a current addiction to Cake Mania (from Real Arcade). Even though we both beat the game, we’re still starting up new games and playing them whenever we can!
