Hah, B-16 doesn’t teach? Someone’s just not listening.

I’m more interested in the original topic. Anyone care to discuss Zoroastrianism? I see in it an early mystic’s attempt to communicate what he discovered through God’s revelation, inspired (in the sense of discovering some truth) but not Inspired (in the sense of guarded from error in writing scripture).

For instance, Ahura Mazda as the uncreated Creator and source of all good seems pretty clearly to be Elohim/Yahweh/God. His two other aspects of Mithra and Burz appear to be proto-trinitarian, with Mithra as Christ and Burz as the Holy Spirit.

Asha (truth/righteousness/right order) appears to be a predecessors of the Hebraic Law and Jesus’ ultimate revelation of Love.

The concept of daevas seems to represent the various angelic powers and principalities that are not worthy of worship on their own, and Ahriman/Satan leads them astray as corrupting powers. The worship-worthy Yazatas would have been an improper understanding of these other beings, though in general asuras are not outside the known Christian order of creation, merely a different description.

The six Amesha Spenta seem like proto-beatitudes, virtues to be emulated and followed, primary characteristics of God.

What do you all think?

Hi, I was wondering wether any of you know of the zoroastrian religion, wich claims that alot of the jewish practices and beliefs were taken from the avesta, (like afterlif, messiah, angels and demos, 40 days in the desert, etc) wich apparently outdates the old testament. Thanks!
Very little.

Seyyed Hossein Nasr has probably written something on it. Chech his work out.
