A medieval Virgin and Child that survived the ravages of the Reformation has returned to England for the first time in 600 years.

Am I the only one who finds a great deal of similarity between the crown on the Virgin in this statue and the crown as depicted in representations of Our Lady of La Salette (aka Tolkienesqe Elven Warrior Queen)?

Beautiful. And to think it survived two attempts to destroy it in England and in France. And now we get to meditate on it in our times. Thanks be to God for it’s preservation!
