I avoid docudramas. They are by deliberate design political propaganda, a modern version of Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. Of greater concern is the role that pride plays on the part of the President, with all the talk of being best, greatest, smartest, etc. I would think that all Christians would recognize the prime sin for what it is, as it started first with Satan. From it springs the greed and lust for money, sex, and power.

George Washington had it right when he understood his own short-comings, and first added the word, “so help me God,” to his oath of office. The fool thinks he knows it all. The wise man knows better. I propose a theory that wisdom is directly proportional to humility, and inversely proportional to the number of “-est” words one speaks, or tweets.

True, but works both ways. I have yet to see any of Trump’s detractors laud him for anything on here, so I suspect both sides are dug in.

Of course he wasn’t joking; what he said made sense and sounded fine when you actually listen to or read his remarks.

Do all the folks who honestly have an issue with his entire statement also get their underpants twisted when former Portland Trailblazer power forward Joe Pryzbilla called himself “Joel Pryzbilla, the Vanilla Gorilla”, or Lebron James calling himself both the Chosen One and King James?

How dare Joel insinuate that he is a gorilla, and how dare Lebron claim to be royalty? Please. Most folks have more important things to worry about.

I generally take them with a grain of salt but this one on ‘The Family’ resonated particularly because it explains a lot about an ideology emerging in global politics that is curious and new. I’ve mentioned a number of times the strangeness of Putins esteem of both Stalin and Ivan the Terrible. Now Trump whose political positions are historically flexible depending on how his ‘empire’ was served.

In my opinion there is definitely a new force gradually building strength that has no interest in the traditional left/right poles.

Liberals will never think anything good about him, no matter what.
Some conservatives wish he would act more like a schoolmarm.

But if you look at the context, that gesture was simply self-deprecating humor about a subject about which he was talking seriously; the neglected need to get a fairer trade deal with China. Since it has been neglected for decades, it has fallen to him to fix it.

I am reminded of a Jewish friend of mine (an atheist, actually) who was strictly observant but had this fascination with the notion of Jews being a chosen people. In speaking of it, he remarked “Yes, we’re the chosen people all right…chosen for what? To be s…t on?”

Dealing with China has not proved an easy task, not the least of reasons being that the Democrat media twists everything about it into failure. Trump felt himself “chosen” in the same way my friend felt himself “chosen”.

But again, it doesn’t matter because the Democrat media and fellow travelers will keep this up until they get tired of it themselves. I’m guessing three more days. No, two.

There’s only two things he could say that would not enrage them:

“I resign” and

“I have evolved and am now pro-abortion.”

But if he said the second, he wouldn’t have to say the first.

You really had me there for a second, Trump, for I was about to set you at my right hand after I kicked off whom I assumed was my Son. Had I not known you were ‘self-deprecating’, I would have thought that I had sent the wrong Messiah. And I’ll forget the whole ‘Blasphemy’ thing because you were making a ‘funny’. 😆🤣

Oh I’m not so sure. The hate for this President runs so deep in the left, that he could become pro abortion, anti second amendment, anti-ICE, and anti you name it, and they’d still insist on his resignation!

They didn’t attack Obama for any of those things, but they left him alone because he was pro-abortion.

They exist. I have done it two or three times, even though I have never supported the man himself. The very point though shows the problem with pre-conceived ideas, prejudicial generalization, and the state of politics in America.
