The words Sodomy is a right never happened in the supreme court…
Lawrence v Texas, 539 U.S. 558 (2003), is a landmark United States Supreme Court case. In the 6-3 ruling, the Court struck down the sodomy law in Texas. The court had previously addressed the same issue in 1986 in Bowers v. Hardwick, where it upheld a challenged Georgia statute, not finding a constitutional protection of sexual privacy.

Lawrence explicitly overruled Bowers, holding that it had viewed the liberty interest too narrowly. The majority held that intimate consensual sexual conduct was part of the liberty protected by substantive due process under the Fourteenth Amendment. Lawrence has the effect of invalidating similar laws throughout the United States that purport to criminalize sodomy between consenting same-sex adults acting in private. It also invalidated the application of sodomy laws to heterosexual sex.

…people have a right to do what they want in their homes. Get a grip.
No, they don’t. It’s sweeping statements like that that cause a lot of anger and hostility.

Do you have a right to abuse a minor as long as it is done in your house? Do you have a right to turn your house into an illegal drug factory? Do you have a right to plot a conspiracy in your house? Do you have a right to run a house of prostitution in your house? Do you have a right to commit a murder in your house? I could go on but you get the point.

If you had a right to do what you want as long as it’s done in your house, search warrants would not even exist. It’s attitudes like yours that led people to the mistaken belief that the function of government to give them whatever they want.

You are the one who needs to get a grip.

Exactly.Something else. There’s a lot of money behind this gay marriage agenda. Its not just the gays themselves.Of and by themselves gay marriage would never pass into to law.Its just part of a larger agenda.

Two words: search warrant.

A few more words: Hatred is a victimless crime in and of itself. And yet, this victimless crime leads to other, more harmful crimes like murder, theft, rape, slander, libel, and condescension.

Contraception, gay sex, bestiality, and the other victimless sexual sins lead to a lack of respect for procreative sex. This in turn leads to promiscuity, STD spread, NEW STD strains (AIDS, anyone?), unwanted pregnancies, an attitude of hostility towards the unborn, abortion, the morning-after pill, etc etc etc.

What happens in bed has consequences for the rest of society. If those things didn’t, God wouldn’t care about sex and neither would His Church.

The world as it is - is it not evidence enough that what I am saying is true? Is it not evidence that all of those voices who said “DO NOT DO THAT” over the centuries - including God Almighty’s - were right?

It’s little wonder Saint Paul and Saint Augustine thought celibacy a better good than marriage - although Saint Paul considered marriage only a lesser good (not evil or amoral), and Saint Augustine considered marital sex only tolerable because of the procreative act, otherwise being absolutely sinful. 😦

Give liberals an inch and they’ll take a mile. This idea accelerated into high gear a couple of years ago when the Supreme Court decided sodomy is a right.
I say give them the mile. Just cut two or three feet off that would give them the ability to adopt kids or receive monetary benefits for their relationship. The relationship between two men who wish to love each other, care for each other, and lead each other to God is worth fighting for.

And if that is their aim - true love that pursues depth of spirit and commitment to each other (and to God), and not a passion based on immediate, strong emotion - they would agree with me, I think, and would be willing to concede adoption and economic benefits.

I would hope, for that is as far as I will go…

The problem is that liberals never stop agitating for change … change EVERYTHING. That’s why we went from “All we gays want is to be left alone” in the '60s to homosexual “marriage” and adoption now.
What is the essential public purpose of marriage? The essential public purpose of marriage is to attach mothers and fathers to their children and to one another. To see the importance of this purpose, we must take the perspective of the child: What is owed to the child? Unlike adults, the child does not need autonomy or independence. The child is entitled to a relationship with and care from both of the people who brought him into being. Therefore, the child has a legitimate interest in the stability of his parents’ union. But no child can defend these entitlements himself. Nor is it adequate to make restitution after these rights have been violated. The child’s rights to care and relationship must be supported pro-actively, before harm is done, for those rights to be protected at all.
Marriage is adult society’s institutional structure for protecting the legitimate interests of children. Without this public purpose, we would not need marriage as a distinct social institution.
Previous generations of social experimenters have caused unimaginable misery for millions of people. Particular people advocated the policies that led to today’s 50% divorce rate and 40% out-of-wedlock childbearing rate. None of these people has ever been held accountable.
And we are now giving in to another one of their experiments.
And if that is their aim - true love that pursues depth of spirit and commitment to each other (and to God), and not a passion based on immediate, strong emotion - they would agree with me, I think, and would be willing to concede adoption and economic benefits.
That’s what they are telling us … NOW, but what will they demand once they win that concession?
