At this point, it will be one of two things:
  1. Muslim shooter: Nonstop calls for his execution or how America is at war with Islamist terrorists.
  2. Non-muslim shooter: Well, let’s talk about all the good things we can do with guns.
I’m sorry for being flippant, but I think I’ve entered a point where hearing stuff like this doesn’t even affect me anymore. It’s just the new normal.

Time to break out the handy “Mass shooting in US checklist”:
  1. Send thoughts & prayers but not actually do anything useful✔
  2. Argue over semantics of the term "assault rifle"✔️
  3. Argue over semantics of the term “terrorist” - if Muslim use it, if Christian/white use term “lone wolf” “mentally ill” “troubled past” ✔️
  4. Congress does nothing but NRA increases donations just in case ✔️
  5. Wait for next one, rinse, repeat✔

Reported that the pastor’s 14 year old daughter was one of the ones killed. Horrific.

These people left home to go to church, unimaginable that you are waiting for a loved one to come home and they lay dead in a church. So far it is speculation on who and for what reason. Jesus you are Love and Mercy itself. Look to the souls who are now in Your Hands. Comfort their loved ones who are now in need of You and Your Love. Our hearts are heavy as we begin to pray for our brothers and sisters. Mary, Mother of us all shield those who are grieving within your Mantle.God Bless all of them and God Bless us…🦋🦋🦋

Oh, God bless those people. I have attended Mass on occasion a few mile up the road at St. Hedwig. This one hits pretty close to home.

Multiple people are receiving surgery, including a six year old boy who was shot four times.

There really aren’t words for this. Just horrific. Thinking of all the victims.

Just based on the shooter’s name, he doesn’t sound Muslim. But I haven’t read the whole story regarding who he is. You make a valid point, however. Apart from politics, though, when will this madness end? We live not only in a gun culture but a culture of brutal violence and gross insensitivity (note the Larry David monologue on SNL about picking up women in a concentration camp). My prayers for the deceased, injured, and their families.

Confirmed death toll of 26, not including the gunman. Still not sure on how many injured, but at least 20.

It was on last night. Larry David is taking flak, and rightly so, from the ADL and others. Of course, insensitive words in the name of comedy will never compare to evil deeds such as the most recent shooting (in a House of Worship no less), but still such jokes serve to debase the culture even more and, I believe, exert some influence on people’s behavior.

Tragic shooting. Evil won another victory. Citizen with rifle shot the murderer which caused him to stop shooting.

I agree with all your points except #1. Kind thoughts and prayer are in no way useless.
