Has he made a binding proclamation in regards to it?
I’m not sure “nationalism” means the same thing to all people. I think in European circles it means an extreme national aggrandizing kind of thing, sometimes based on racism, more or less associated with Fascism. I think Argentinian understandings are more like those of Europe than those of the U.S.

In the U.S., for most people, it means the kind of patriotism espoused by the Knights of Columbus and in no way opposed to Church teaching plus putting American national interests ahead of those of other countries which does not conflict with the Church’s teachings as far as I know.

Among the far left in the U.S. it’s more like the European notion, only worse.

Well we’ve got ideas being thrown around about “pride in our people, history, and culture”.

Is that part of the supposedly benign American nationalism?

I am noticing a cultural Marxist vibe from a few posts around here.

This is ridiculous. I dont care who’s in office. The numbers don’t drop because a stimulus bill “doesn’t pass”. They shouldn’t change at all unless it DOES pass.

Because NOTHING CHANGED.

Only the greatest from CNN…

Stock markets are affected by confidence and outlooks. If something leads to a negative outlook, it has a negative effect.

Again, why are those things by themselves bad? Taken to an extreme and advocating for the eradication of other people, cultures, etc. is of course evil and wrong. But national pride on its own is healthy and natural. A nation that isn’t proud of itself soon turns to self loathing and that leads to societal decay.
