October 24, 2006 – The latest polls show something very strange and quite encouraging is happening: The Republican base seems to be coming back home. This trend, only vaguely and dimly emerging from a variety of polls, suggests that a trend may be afoot that would deny the Democrats control of the House and the Senate.

With two weeks to go, anything can happen, but it is beginning to look poss- ible that the Democratic surge in the midterm elections may fall short of control in either House.

Here’s the evidence:

Regardless of what the polls say and the media say, I’ll just mark the election as a toss up, til the votes are counted. Part of who wins will be who shows up. Given the past elections, I don’t really take much stock in what the media says on the subject. Also if you give the accuracy to what the media says, like you said two weeks are a long time.

Also I keep hearing polls like, who do you want to take control of Congress. That really doesn’t seem like the best question. I’m voting for the candidates that are in my area, not for the party that I want to win control of Congress. That could effect the way I vote, but the main issue of concern are the candidates.

I am wondering how accurate the “polls” are? I know that I will not answer those polls and that skews the polls to the left.

A poll needs to be scientific to be even remotely trustworthy.
As for this election, I am praying daily about it. Hopefully the Lord will see to it we get the government we deserve…

Fortunately or unfortunately, I think we always get the government we deserve…we voted for them. 🙂 Pray that we get the government we need. :gopray2:
