This link might be to a blog or opinion, I’m not sure, honestly. But it includes a conclusion that I don’t quite understand. According to the article, it seems that the synod was expected to produce a final report, and now there is a question about whether or not a final report will be released. Apparently, Francis appointed a committee to review the synod’s final draft and then he will decide if the synod will release the final document.

a) do I understand correctly?

b) is this an accurate statement?

The report, technically, is a recommendation to the Holy Father. It is up to the Holy Father to decide to make it public and in what languages.

It is up to the Holy Father to make any changes based upon the recommendations. It could take a year before we hear any announcements from him on any changes.

The process is in a sticky at the top of the page.
