I believe that somtimes, one most tear done to rebuild.

Peace!

With the economic down turn, I think more will close since families even with all the sacrifices that they have been making, can no longer support the necessary tuition costs to keep these wonderful schools open. More reasons to pray.

In our diocese our Bishop has decided to combine all of the Catholic schools in our county and create one entity. Each school will still function with their own identity and name but the support will not just come from the parents tuition and the parish of that school. All of the surrounding parishes without schools will help support this main entity. This will take the burden off of the parish and the school and will probably less our tuition payment. This is a great plan.

Tough times in the city Catholic schools. First Jersey City, now Brooklyn.

I have seen the schools in my diocese go from 95% Catholic to about 10% Catholic enrollees. And private teachers sure work for a higher salary than the religious instructors.

But, just like hospitals, the schools’ ministry is education, no matter what the religion of the recipient. So, even though many Catholics have left, the diocese and the parishes still support the schools as part of their ministry to teach the ignorant. I can support that and I do.

However, the cardinal has closed a number of schools and parishes. The money is just not there.

There’s got to be a way to make these schools thrive again, but I can’t think of anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re-establish ethnic enclaves and increase vocations to teaching orders 500%.
