Not to put a damper on this large number - but what church are they coming into?

Most of the liberal, homosexual bishops around the country have put “their” people in place long ago. RCIA teaches “love everybody”, confessions - not required, just ask God to forgive you, premarital sex -(don’t worry about changing your life because “GOD LOVES YOU”), homosexuals - just be nice, as long as you are committed to your partner - it’s ok (after all, 1/2 the bishops are homosexual), mortal sin? - never heard of it, pro-life? - not required - just do what you want and be nice.
And the pastors (whom the bishops also put in charge) are teaching the same thing from the pulpit and hiring the RCIA teachers who are teaching “love everybody”, confessions-not required, just ask God…

Sorry - that’s just the truth. Or at least it is in OC and Los Angeles. It’s a no-rules “Christian community” - that’s what they (protestants) call “non-denominational”.

I know our parish (in the Sacramento Diocese) RCIA program includes moral theology that conforms to church teachings. Also, all candidates MUST go to confession before the Easter Vigil. Catacumens and candidates that are divorced and remarried or have a spouse that is divorced and remarried that have not recieved an annulment are not be received into the church at the Easter Vigil. This year we started with about 125 adults and children in RCIA and tonight 90 adults and children, including whole families, will be received into the church.

Awesome! Praise God. It always brings me great joy seeing new members enter the Church :getholy:

No, its not great. Its quite sad actually. The Catholic Church has many errors. Hopefully they’ll be like I was and wake up to those errors and leave soon.

It is also nice for each convert to know- when the number ends in a 1, you can say that you are that 1.

Even if the there is only 1 new person coming into the Church, we all need to celebrate.

Dear Holly3278,
I suggest you study early Church history and the early
Christians’ writings. One must conform his life to the truth,
not conform his truth to his life. God bless you.

And I’m one of those adults. 👍 :yup:
Congratulations!! 👍 My wife and I just finished our RCIA class and are still awaiting her annullment from a previous marriage before we can be brought in to full communion.

God Bless You!😃

Well put!👍

BTW - Thanks for the ‘Welcome Home’. That’s exactly how we feel…right at home.:yup:

Of course it is great when new people come in. But, I am not impressed by mere numbers anymore. I know too many people who are nominal Catholics only and for who the church is attended only for “hatch, match and dispatch.” Also, the dreary figures about weekly mass attendance gives rise to thought.

I hope the new Catholics will be more assiduous in their religious practice.
