Both are actually very good Missals. I have a Saint Andrews Daily Missal from St. Bonaventure Publications which I enjoy a lot; its a reprint of the 1945 version. Also there is the father Lasance version of the 1962 Missal.
I have had the Baronius, the Father Lasance, and the Saint Andrews and I like all of them. THe Baronius however will have to most up to date versions of the prayers we say during benediction and etc. The Baronius also has the Litany of the Precious Blood.=QUOTE]
This is all great information. And I’m pleased the question was asked as I have wanted to purchase one myself - I also wondered if there might be a new edition in the works, with new saints and prayers added.
We’re lucking enough in our parish to have, in addition to 5 English Masses, & 3 Spanish Masses, an EF Latin Mass on Sundays, And to have it offered every Tuesday evening - and again for Solemnities.
I have long held an appreciation for the EF, and in fact worked hard while a choir member at St. Margaret Mary Church in Oakland, CA (which at the time celebrated two Masses on Sunday, both OF; one in English and one in Latin). We were finally granted permission to celebrate a third Mass on Sundays, this one in the EF; The first, and for a long time, only, parish in the Oakland Diocese allowed to do so.
During all the intervening years, I’ve worked in different cities and have been involved in different parishes - as well as both forms of the Mass (which I do appreciate).
The EF Masses I’ve attended (to the present) had/have booklets with inserts. And I recently decided it’s time for me to buy my own missal! But like our friend here, I’ve been wondering about the merits of the differing Publisher versions and their editions?
You’ve all offered food for thought. My thanks to all of you!
