The “Prez” does a good job of being ridiculously irritating. Its like you can see in his eyes the indecision and the desire to be found “looking presidential” is more important than the outcome of his decisions. Reminds me of the commercial where the “slow talker” guy doesn’t say anything for so long the rest of the world moves on without him!

oooh…oooh…it’s Audrey…just for the record, I’m guessing Audrey!!!
No way. She’d never be behind such a plot involving the canisters.
But the Jack being betrayed could be in any reference, it only takes one phone call to betray him without having to be the insider involved in the bigger plot.

Insider candidates:
Mike Novac
Agent Pierce
First Lady’s escort
First Lady
There was a red haired agent who told the president CTU linkup was complete when he was taking his wife out of the limo from going to the hospital…
There’s still Chloe’s bedmate…he was fired but where did he go? And yet, he was duped, didn’t really know what was going on.

Who else have we met there?
Could it be the archive fellow the first lady trapped in the men’s room??? 😛

I wonder if we’ll meet up with Palmer’s brother…remember he knows about Jack, about the encrypted warning…but since the mystery of who killed Palmer is solved (though it hasn’t been released to the public yet) maybe we won’t be taken back there…

If you notice, Pres. Logan RARELY makes a decision on his own. He almost ALWAYS asks someone elses opinion. Personally, I think they need to resurrect Palmer ( I am not so sure he is REALLY dead). You are right , though, the actor is doing a great "Nixonesque " job
~ Kathy ~
Yeah, that’s the part that’s so annoying…he always has to see what someone else thinks first, then he decides to go with it or not - and then act as if it was his idea all along.

What I want to know is…

WHERE"S TONY???
Tony’s still in a coma with half his face burned off…
besides, he’d have no reason to betray Jack since Tony doesn’t even know who’s responsible for killing his wife…
I half expect Tony and Jack to work together later on in the season but from what I read from the preview season writeups that really was all we were going to see of the old-timers, Palmer, Tony and his wife.

I don’t think Tony is the bad guy…I just wonder where he is!!! He’s my favorite…but, now, I’m thinking we won’t see him again based on your “research” above:crying:

I dunno. Audrey was a “lady scorned”…I think that may explain any revenge plot on her mind!!!😃

Next weeks show is going to be great! The previews show Jack being tasered:( I wish it was Lynn!

Yeah…b b b u t…She called him to tell him she loves him.
And she knows he told the other woman he is not returning to her and that he loves Audrey…so how scorned is she, really?

She’s in the DOD so she understands all the logistics and reasoning behind Jack’s decision. She’s had a year to wrap her mind around what really happened back then, and she already forgave him for her husband’s death…so how scorned is she, really?

I find it intriguing that we keep getting flashes in the montages of Diana…wonder if she’s popping up later…

Wonder what they have in mind for Jack’s daughter…though, I vaguely recall mention of that plot line in the season premiere writesups…foggy memory has me thinking it’s not going to be good…but that’s not a leap, really, since something always goes wrong around her 😛

I had an opportunity to watch the last two “24” episodes again last night. I am leaning towards Mike Novak as the insider bad guy. He was definitely involved in Walt Cummings “suicide”, and he seemed to lead President Logan very manipulatively into agreeing to the terrorist plot on the Russian president. When I watched it the first time, it seemed that Mike disagreed with giving the terrorist the route, but the 2nd viewing revealed Mike slowly agreeing, and then almost encouraging it.

What really makes me suspicious is the way he undermines the First Lady. She was right about making a statement telling the truth about Cummings’ death…at least it’s a stand I could see Palmer taking…especially the part about the public never accepting being lied to…

By having the President disregard the statement the First Lady had drafted Mike makes her appear unstable in the eyes of her body guard again…reinforcing the belief that she’s delusional when she isn’t.

Plus, we viewers really don’t know whether or not Mike told anyone about his meeting with Jack Bauer…we assume Cummings did that, because we saw his conversation, but we don’t know he actually picked up the phone and ordered the intervention. Yet Walt knew the meeting was going to be thwarted, we saw that in his discourse with the President, but it isn’t clear Walt and Mike weren’t cooperating in that.
.

It was interesting how the writer’s played out the storyline of Walt Cummings though…how when it came down to it, the First Lady couldn’t bring herself to tell the truth to one person, let alone an entire nation…

Which opens the debate -
Was the path the President chose, upon Mike’s advice, the correct path for the nation?

If, at the end of the day, this ‘cover up’ succeeds, the public will never know the White House had such people on its payroll and so close to the President…is that a good thing or not?

I was thinking the same thing…I wish I had taped that particular episode. I would love to review that whole thing, and see if there are any “red herrings”. :hmmm:

I think you mentioned Kim Bauer in one of your posts here. I am also wondering when she will appear. Audrey was supposed to call her, and last we heard, Audrey hadn’t been able to contact her.

Can’t wait until Monday:thumbsup:

 I’m thinking Audrey but maybe now Mike…

I can’t wait till Monday :bounce:

Mike Novic is the red herring. It’s going to turn out to be someone totally unexpected and we’ll all get “blown right out of the water”. I’m going out on a limb and say Kim Bauer’s husband/boyfriend Chase. …remember him?? Jack’s “buddy” from a previous season??

Yeah, I’m always uncomfortable following the ‘clues’ which seem so obvious…that’s what I love about this show!!!

Kim comes back real soon, she’s in our tv week guide of the newspaper.

I hope we get some news on her hubby…didn’t he get his hand chopped off and supposedly reattached??? Oh, that was SUCH an episode!!!

tick tick

tick
tick

It’s almost Monday… 😃

Ohhhh, you people are so hard on Audrey. Gotta tell you - I’d probably do the same thing.

For goodness sake, don’t you romantics at heart know the world stops when you find your true love is alive again? 😃

Besides, she is a woman who just found out Jack still loves her - added with a twist of jealousy towards Diane. Audrey was simply cutting to the chase with her emotions. Chop chop!
I am so laughing about this one! You are SO right!!!

Am I the only one who thinks Sean Astin was horribly miscast in this show? I thought he was quite good in Lord of the Rings and is in general a good actor, but in this show it’s like he’s some kind of robot reading his lines. I get the idea that he is supposed to be obsessed with doing everything “by the book,” but he comes across like a wooden Indian IMHO. His best performance (such as it was) was this last episode, where he was freaking out.

I liked the way he was cool and collected coming onto the scene…I mean, he’s shorter and younger than Buchanan…they apparently have known each other for quite a while and you could tell because of Sean’s acting that his character was a bit nervous about having to step in for his friend, they way he extended courtesy - to a point - and all.

This, leading up to the twist in his story, with the druggy sister and now his freaking out. We were given glimpses of his character’s insecurities through little nuances in Sean’s body language so that we weren’t totally taken by surprise when he got distracted by his sister. I thing the freaking out part is enjoyable because of the build up before hand - the cool, robotic, by the book, character we thought we were getting to know.

So, so far I’m enjoying Sean’s work…I think the proof will be in the pudding though…wherever his character’s story goes…then I’ll be in a better position to form an opinion about whether or not he was miscast. Then again, we have to consider the actors do what the director says…so if we really don’t like how a character is portrayed the real fault lies with the director.

I read in Entertainment Magazine that he watched every previous episode of 24 non-stop in preparation for coming on board getting up only to bring food from the kitchen back to the couch or to go to the bathroom, so it’s possible Sean can take this over the top. I’m looking forward to the rest of his character’s storyline.
